Please anyone from here that has iphone 3gs confirm if you don't get the monte option on the latest beta release. Thanks again johnnelm9r for replying.

How come i don't see the monte option when i run the newest redsn0w_0.9.7b5? I have phone 3gs 4.2.1 (8C148a) 5.15.04 and i selected in the first stage that i have new fixed bootrom. Please help! i only see install cydia and install custom rom etc BUT NO MONTE! Should i tethered jailbreak first then use this beta? Or can i run this beta directly from 4.2.1 official restore?

Anyone here have any luck installing ultrasn0w to their iphone 3G without the need of wifi. My wifi is still dead. Installed and JB my 3G but can't unlock it since i don't have wifi :( Tried cyder 2 but no luck. Whenever i tried to transfer ultrasn0w .93 on my phone and do a restart, my phone just get stuck on the apple logo and just loops after some time. :(

For how long did you put your iphone in the freezer? If i want my wifi back say for 15mins, i would have to put my iphone in the freezer for min 30mins. One time i forgot that it's in the freezer for 1 hr. But luckily it didn't damage my iphone :) My point here is maybe you have to leave your iphone a bit longer in the freezer (of course turned off and wifi off) and then do a reset network settings immediately after you took your iphone from the freezer. But then again, i'm not sure about this so do this at your own risk :( Anyways, i'm following your advise and will just wait for 4.0.

Feel sorry for you bro. Was thinking of upgrading using the new pwnage thus making my iphone stay on old BB and maintain my unlock + jailbreak... Have you tried reset network settings? My wifi is not grayed out but just wouldn't connect/join any infrastructure network. But it has no problem connecting via adhoc connection.

For people here that have jailbroken iphone 3G. Have you guys tried the option "Erase All Content and Settings" on your iphone? I've tried it several times but after i did it, it just sits on the apple logo and never came out of it. So i'm not sure if it finished deleting or it just stuck there. I've even tried waiting for whole day but it didn't changed. It just shows apple logo....

That's the thing, i bought mine here in Dubai where there's no genius place even though my iphone is less than 6months old, i have no choice but to wait if apple can give a fix on this on the next FW update.

in my case i noticed that my iphone tends to be significantly hot. If my memory serves me right, this is not happening when i was still in 2.2.1 FW running 02.30.03 BB.

Try Luc56's suggestion then if still giving the same error, try using different USB slot on your machine.

Try the network reset or reset all settings. If it still couldn't connect then i think you're out of luck. We're on the same boat on this my friend. I tried everything i could find on the net to solve this but nothing really works permanent. Like yesterday, was able to get connected by manually entering the ssid and selected all the security settings one by one before selecting the correct one. After this i was able to connect for like 30mins then it went down again. Meaning i couldn't connect again on that same AP that i was just connected. If you ask me, it's either we have a defective wifi chip or the 3.0 software really screwed up our wifi. Don't even think that downgrading it to 2.2.1 will work, coz i've tried that as well. I think if the culprit is 3.0 software then downgrading it to 2.2.1 will definitely won't work unless you can also downgrade your baseband. If your one of the lucky few that has the 5.08 bootloader then you might have a chance to test if it's really the 3.0 FW + baseband. Let us know if ever.

We're on the same boat my friend. My wifi is not working as well after upgrading to 3.0.... Google rizwan ultrasnow 0.8. He has a .bat file that you can use to unlock your iphone using windows. Goodluck!

If you have mails configured on your iphone then make sure to adjust the "fetch new data" to manual. You go to "Settings - Mail, Contact, Calendar - Fetch New Data - Advanced". From there, configure all your mails to fetch manually. Hope this'll help you.

we have the same problem dude on the wifi. That i can't help you. But on the ultrasnow, google "rizwan ultrasnow 0.8" he made a ".bat" file that you just need to double click on windows while your iphone 3G is plug in and restart. After restart your iphone will be unlock :) NOTE: I'm assuming you already jailbreak your iphone 3G using redsnow and not stucked on the "connect to USB icon".

I'm pretty sure that it's not ultrasnow causing the problem. Cause i tried connecting prior to installing ultrasnow and still to no avail. Jst in case ur wondering, i installed ultrasnow manually using a .bat file made by rizwan and it works perfectly...by the way, correct me if i'm wrong, isn't purplesnow intended for 3GS only? thanks anyway for the suggestion...

I've tried everything from reseting network settings, reset all settings, turning on bluetooth and turning it off, fresh restore and set up as new one but nothing worked. I don't think it's a hardware problem though cause i noticed that i can connect to some free wifi spot and able to see the wifi icon on the upper left corner of my iphone 3G its just that i can't browse the internet. I tried to release DNS but still no internet. I'm hoping this gets fix on 3.1 :(
