Mike Roussell.com : Anti-Inflammatory Diets and Omega-3 Supplements

I think Krill oil has its benefits but it is important to make sure that you are getting enough total EPA/DHA. Most krill oil supplements contain lower amounts of EPA/DHA so you still need to eat fatty fish or take a lower dose fish oil supplement. No, the rancid capsule thing is a myth. I would actually say that the straight oil has a better chance of going rancid. Keep your fish/krill oil in the freezer and it will reduce the fish taste/burps. -Mike

Mike Roussell.com : Whole Grains: Eat 'em or Not

Greg, You are correct in the second half of your post. The components of whole grains that inhibit nutrient action and absorption aren't really a cause of concern unless it is a major staple in your diet. If you are getting 3-5 servings of whole grains per day then it isn't something you need to worry about. great question, Mike

Heather, I'm usually not a fan of flaxseed oil in shakes as it ruins the taste but all the blueberries and vanilla casein (what I used) seemed to mask it. Another option would be a couple tablespoons of crushed walnuts. -Mike

Mike Roussell.com : Vegetarian Protein Rules: Don't Make This Mistake

Exactly! I'm not putting down vegetarianism or plant based diets at all (as a general rule people need to eat more plants) but this is something that lots of people don't think about. It is important to adjust your lifestyle and diet accordingly. Thanks for sharing your story. It is a great illustration of exactly what I was talking about. -Mike

Mike Roussell.com : Your Vitamins Don't Work

The idea is that if you do follow the 6 Pillars then you don't need a multivitamin/mineral because you'll be eating enough 'good' food to cover all your bases. But you can't always be sure, that is why I recommend using a vitamin for insurance reasons. Whole foods based multivitamins (like the Prograde one) are the better choice. The prograde one (and most whole foods based vitamins) aren't cheap, so don't break the bank just for a multi. But it is a good idea if you can afford it.

Greg, Hi. WSFL 2.0 contains the Done For You Diet plans found in the original WSFL program. In addition I created 3 new dietary plans - Two of which I call the 3x diet. They are 3 days worth of meal plans at 5 different calorie levels. The 3x plans come in both vegetarian and non vegetarian versions. I also put together another plan called "No Brainer Fat Loss Diet" which is a simplier/food based approach to rapid weight loss. Send us an email at support [at] nakednutritionnetwork.com and we'll send you the upgrade/discount link - if you are interested. -Mike

Mike Roussell.com : Whey Protein Isolate vs. Whey Protein Concentrate

Lynn,

Unfortunately no. I think Joe Mercola sells a whey from grass fed feed. I don't know of unsweetened protein powder though. Personally I don't think (or have seen evidence to support) that from a nutrition standpoint you get a greater benefit from grass fed whey protein vs 'regular' whey.

-Mike
