Once again, we’ve completely lost perspective. I am an active volunteer at the KCAC shelter and I must tell you truthfully that there is no justification or exemption that can be made about the way this shelter is managed. KCAC is still deplorable, pungent and simply unsuitable for animal care. Unorganized is an understatement. Sure, there have been diminutive changes made, but not enough to actually make a considerable difference in the grand scheme of things. I just wish they'd bulldoze the place down and start building a new state of the art shelter. I could tell you so many stories about my experiences being involved there, but it would be pointless. I'm there because it's the only way I can personally make a difference for the animals. I take a deep breath, put my blinders on and go do the work I need to do. The shelter needs help but the pleas go unanswered and we are in a vicious circle of politics and greed. This subject exhausts me to the core simply stated….. the words are coming out but no one is listening.
