Quite right Tom. Instead of a winning conservative however we are stuck with a technocratic plank propped up by Liberal Democrats who still have political ambition. A Thatcherite agenda would be hugely popular and is desperately needed. The left are controlling every aspect of governance and debate and the stench of decay is unmistakable. As Jefferson noted, "a little revolution now and again is a good thing".

They won the vote by a simple majority. Those were the rules and therein rests the mandate. It's called democracy. All the rest of the background noise is sour grapes from the enemies of democracy.

Alas you won't value democracy until it is lost. That of course assumes you ever did value democracy. My belief is in individual freedom. That is a concept our neoliberal brethren struggle to reconcile. Hence the response to everything happening across the continent being imposition of more centralisation of power with the unelected and unaccountable. Thomas Jefferson had choice words on the subject of absolute despotism, I'd suggest you read them.

If Williamson is Pike does that make Mark Carney Fraser? We're doomed Mr Manwairing, we're doomed.

My colleague used to be customs official at Dover prior to the single market. I'm reliably advised there were no problems and every lorry was searched. No problems and many fewer illegal immigrants. The only problems arose when French farmers blockaded French ports and of course every bank holiday when French air traffic controllers went on strike meaning more passengers had to travel by ferry. That won't change with Brexit I'm afraid, they are after all French.

Rather uncharitable I think. I grew up in the same town and knew many of the same people Ruth Davidson will have known. I am a little surprised by her telling the story but alas not by the story. She will soon have a young family and time is precious. She should enjoy it. Careers are marathons not sprints and I believe there is too much emphasis on youth. As a nation we are forgetting the value of experience. Ruth has plenty of time if she wishes to pursue such a path in the future.

More Project Fear horsesh!t. Most of our economy does not trade with the EU. Our growth is with the real world outside of fortress Europe and that is where our future beckons. When one sails beyond the borders of Europe one does not fall off the end of the world. Tying ourselves to a moribund superstate in perpetuity however will have serious negative long term economic consequences. The arguments against Brexit are not economic, they are political. Spurious economic statements are being made to hide the antidemocratic agenda of the neoliberal elite. Brexit itself has become the litmus test of democracy. Europhiles with their record of making people vote again when they don't vote the right way are desperate to overturn the democratic vote and in the process fatally undermine democracy. What is at risk is nothing less than the freedom of people to make decisions affecting their lives. Europhiles do not want people to have that freedom.

Scotland going or staying is within the gift of this government. Jim Sillars famously described us as 90 minute patriots and he was right. Scottish instincts are still conservative rather than Conservative and any further move towards nationalism would only be as a result of malfeasance from Westminster. Electorally ground has been recovered in the North East of Scotland where voters have returned to the Conservative Party after decades of flirting with nationalism. The reasons are partly Brexit and the fishing industry, but also that Scottish Nationalists are of a metropolitan leftist persuasion that does not sit comfortably in rural Scotland. Will these voters go back to the SNP? That depends on Theresa May. If she betrays the fishing communities then yes I believe they will. In that scenario then Scottish independence is a real possibility.

Alas people just don't get it. The Conservative Party will be judged by Brexit. Backslide and betray the voters and nothing will stop the Corbynistas. They have not been damaged to any great extent by anti-Semitism which speaks volumes. The government must deliver Brexit or the party faces electoral oblivion. That in turn delivers our first revolutionary communist government and make no mistake, the party will be blamed for both events.

Yes, we are walking away from an overbearing authoritarian quasi-superstate with imperialist instincts. Their behaviour, including hypocrisy and outright disregard for their own laws shows the British people were right to vote leave. It has become an institution that is alien to everything this country has ever stood for.
