My condolences to the family in this senseless tragedy.

I also want to point out that it is not the kids asking for help here. I have been the driving force in seeking to rally the community around them. One family had inadequate insurance while the other (the one with children) had none. They blame no one for their own oversight and seek nothing because of it. They have been very appreciative of everyone's prayers, thoughts, and good wishes.
From Facebook here is what my daughter Kori posted:
In the midst of a tragedy, a person's true colors are shown. I am lucky to be surrounded by people who continually outpour their hearts with love and unconditional support. I will never to able to individually thank all those who have lifted us up in their prayers or those strangers who have given donations but the kindness in their (well everyone's) hearts has inspired me. I am thankful.... forever thankful.

and Nick S:
Wow, I had a great time at the playground with Kori, Bentley, Ethan, Nick D. & Kari. It was great to act like a kid for awhile after the horrible week we all had. Tomorrow officially is the first day of the rest of our lives as we move into our new house. Wish us luck. Have a safe and great week everyone. Get renters insurance and a fire safe!!!!!

I am the mother of the twin girls in this story. If you look at the news story again at 1:27 to the left of the screen you see a brownish object lying on the table on top of a notebook. This is the SpaceBag the flag was stored in and it was indeed OUTSIDE of the safe, not inside. Our family has grasped on to this and it has offered us a bright spot in an otherwise devastating accident. These kids are amazing in how they have handled this and we can all learn something from them. I know as their mother I sure have.

The photo was taken by my daughter Kori, with her point and shoot camera that she had in her car. She is a professional photographer but lost all of her photography equipment in the fire. But the photo credit is hers. Thank you for posting this._

There is a post on my blog that lists specific items and sizes for the families.

There were TWO families renting this home. My twin daughters, their husbands and my two young grandchildren. We are thankful no one was hurt. They lost EVERYTHING, nothing could be saved, it happened too fast. One family had renters insurance; but the family with the two small children did NOT. They have only been on the island a year and hope to be able to stay if they can find another home to rent. Thanks to everyone for your postive thoughts and prayers. It is going to be a long process for all of them.

WTH is wrong with people, foster parenting is a VOLUNTARY commitment if you can't handle it or don't want to do it anymore then QUIT for goodness sakes don't make the kids in your care suffer further because you are a POS human. Thanks for helping to give foster parents a bad rep. Not ALL of them are evil, these two definitely are.

My heart also goes out the this child's family and the provider. What a terrible awful horrible thing for any parent to experience. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
