Thanks for your comments. I wish more law enforcement folks would step up and tell it like it really is instead of the crap that the administrtion is spewing forth on a daily basis.
It may interest you to know that most of the rank and file law enforcement officers in rural areas support the 2nd amendment. The police cheifs on the other hand, for the most part are political animals so publicly they will say what they have to say to keep their jobs. According to a Sheriif friend of mine, the inner city and big city Depts, most or a lot of their officers are actually ignorant as to 2nd amnedment rights. That can be blamed on a school system that has dummied down the american public for decades. I nticed whne my daughter was in the 5th grade that she hadn't been taught squat about the constitution and whne i was in grade school in the fifties, we knew all about it by the third grade.
As far as I can find, states with actve CCW programs, and the majority have them, have less crime then the states with the most stringent gun control measures. Go to the fbi website and look at their stats. When the left, ABC, or any anti gun gontrol advocate4s spout their figures, they are inflted and in most cases skewed and wrong. For instance, they always fail to mention that about 10,000 so called gun-deaths are actually suicides and i'm pretty sure that if a suicidial individual wnats to kill them sleves they will do it with whatever menas are available, yet the left anti-gun idiots add that to their stats without any clarification...that bogus ABC show qutoted 130,000 detahs by firearms in a year? Correct me if I heard it wrong.....if we are to belive any of it then there would be no children left on our streets. But once again, when ya hit people with untruths over and over they seem to believe it. What astounded me was that Obama used that wrong 90% figure in his Mexican speech....
I actually agree with you. For a long time the phrase "assault" has been attached to a lot of guns...I see it as a BS term. Hell, if I decided to kill my wife with a fork, I guess you could call it an assault fork. It's a misleading fearmongering attempt to demonize an object instead of focusing on the persons who are using the object to assault another human being. Also, after checking the FBI stats, I fpound that "Assault" weapons, perse...have been used in less then 1% of all crimes using firearms.
I don't know what state you liv ein but here in california, one has to take a written test to purcahse a hadgun. If you wish to take that further and apply for a CCW then you have to take a firearms saftey and accuracy cource, a mental evaliuation and an interview with the county Sheriif...so as far as tests go they're already happening. However, it only affects law abiding gun owners...I can gaurantee bad guys and felons are not taking tests and filling out forms to purchse guns of any kind....that is the rub...the govt infringing on our right doesn't do dddly to the criminal.

"Trolls" are like energy vampires...they thrive on conflict and most of them if not all are steeped in rhetoric that was fed to them by somoen else because on the whole they are not bright enough to come up with any well thought out comments. It amazes me to still hear on occasion "We won and you're just bad losers", like freedom is some kind of board game. Anyhow, if ya don't feed e'm any energy they eventually will go away...so, folks, stop reacting to these pukes.....as long as they are spouting rhetoric you will not be able to change their minds.
Not only that, but if you have purchased firearms and/or ammo in the last month you are also a right wing extremist.....
Thanks for posting this....In Hawaii, before you can fire on an intruder you must first retreat to the farthest corner of your home and verbally warn said intruder that you are armed plus you have to be in fear of losing your life. By the time you fulfill the deadly force requirement, you're dead. I know this because I lived in Hawaii(MAui) for 25 yrs. As a legal gun owner. Colorado's law makes far more sense.
