Not at all. Films are an audio/visual medium and great films use those components in ways that can't sufficiently be adapted into books; could you imagine a novelization of The Seventh Seal? Successful film adaptations turn their source material into something new. Going the other way around, you'd have to do that too, but there's very little market or demand for, say, a big time author writing his or her novelized vision of Inception. But who knows? It could be cool. By the way did you get made fun of a lot for having the first name "Most"?

Calm down :) There won't be a Spider-Man 4, but there will be another Spider-Man. They're rebooting the series with a new movie that'll be out in Summer 2012. Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) is playing Peter Parker, and Emma Stone (Easy A) is playing Gwen Stacy. Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is directing. Your last argument (that gay people should call marriage something else) kind of misses the point. Yes, they should have the same rights/privileges as straight couples. That's a no-brainer. But beyond that, they want to get married because...marriage is important. Words matter. If they call it something else, it's "separate but equal" all over again.

Yikes...these types of comments are always fun. -This post has nothing to do with being a critic, it's obviously not a review. It's five sentences and a picture. -I wasn't trying to make much of a statement. Yikes, three of you have mentioned the 'Blade Runner' comparison now. Douglas wasn't comparing the films' quality, but the plain fact that both were box office disappointments at first. But making Harrison Ford a replicant in the director's cut was stupid.

Nolan can invent any rules he wants, but he then has to stick to those rules. Inception did at times feel like he was making up new ones willy-nilly to fit whatever he needed to have happen in the scene. That said, I agree with you. He makes it just plausible enough, makes sure the actors are authoritative enough in their explanations, and keeps things moving fast enough that you keep having a heck of a time.

So what if he recognizes them? If I get on a plane, glance around, and fall asleep, I'm not going to find it strange if those faces then appear in my dream. Still, the complaint holds water in that Murphy's character would find it strange that Watanabe was on the same plane.

Doesn't matter, plot-wise. Watanabe's character thinks they've succeeded -- that's the original reason he went with them in the first place, to make sure they do what they say they'll do -- so he holds up his end of the bargain. Although, Nolan makes it pretty obvious to the audience that Murphy's character has a catharsis that will lead him to dissolve his company.

I like her too. Although I'm pretty sure her part in The Social Network is even smaller than realized -- if the script I read still stands, she has one big scene at the very beginning, then appears briefly a few minutes later, and that's it. Guess it goes to show how valuable a small role is when it can get you an in with a really powerful director.

Please not Johansson. I just don't think she's a very good actress. I think Lively has an untapped range and wouldn't mind her. But the bigger question, while I'm all for a "Female Cast Away in Space" movie, why are we only looking at two youngish pretty white blonde girls that are pretty much interchangeable to most people? Seems like a lack of imagination, which is weird, because Cuaron's the real deal.
