That's fine. I'm just saying that if girls don't gravitate towards gaming, even as a medium with offerings aimed squarely at them, I wont lose any sleep at night or take it as a huge loss.

From a business perspective, the gaming industry needs to find a way to pull girls into games more.

But honestly, as far as how it affects me and my view of videogames, i dont really care. I mean, there are all sorts of activities that tend to get divided along gender lines. I dont know many guys that go out to dance clubs for any reason other than to try and score girls, but lots of girls just do it for the fun of it.

Likewise, if gaming stays akin to watching sports or UFC - an activity dominated mostly by guys outside of a few exceptional girls, then I would be cool with that too.

I've always felt as though 2D should be considered its own genre, instead of treated like a forgotten stepping stone on the way to 3D. Just because 3D introduced new gameplay possibilities, doesnt mean the strengths of 2D are irrelevant or outdated.

All good points in this article. It's kind of ridiculous that Xbox 360 players pay $50 a year, and it doesnt even go towards dedicated servers.

Fantastic news post. Activision needs to learn that best-selling franchises like COD are NOT the most valuable resource in the gaming industry. The talent to make those franchises is.

If Kotick, who has proudly stated that he doesnt like or play videogames, and wants to take the fun out of making games, knew anything about the industry, he wouldnt have been shocked by the formation of Respawn, the partnership with EA, or the crumbling of Infinity Ward.
