Popular votes sounds good, but the Electorial College was instituted to represent fairness of representation. If you take America's heartland the population is rural and mostly conservative. Then by contrast you look at the big urban populations you have dense population dependent on government support. It would then be very easy to rally voters by ACORN to get out the vote. Then you would have the big 5 states determining every election.

I do believe that during the partisan primaries, the candidates are given the 'weighted average' of delegates so the nominating votes would end up on a majority support within the party.

Also too bad we don't have more parties so the government would have to have a "coolition' on beliefs for leadership.

We all need to re-register to NP (NO PARTY).

In addition to following the Constitution, term limits, flat tax, borders . . .some of my "Wish List" is:
1. Offer illegals $$ to go home
2. The "Anchor Baby" provisions need to include that they be born to LEGAL residents or US Citizens
3. Limit powers of the Federal Government to:
(1.) National security (military)
(2.) Inter-state commerce and transportation
(3.) Set standards and practice (education, food, drugs, medical)
(4.) Immigration and amnesty processing - legal applicants only (and process within 6 months)
4. Election campaign fund limits - ALL candidates for ANY office have the same budgeted funds
5. Congressional bills deal ONLY with the subject of bill, and "earmark" how all spending in it is handled
