I watched all the opening statements, including Sotomayors'. While I don't agree with her speaches, or her recent record, I believe that she will be fair. Having said that, I also don't believe WE THE PEOPLE have much of a choice. She is going to be confirmed, like it or not (NOT). The Dems majority will see to that. We need to start the counter attack now, before she gets a foothold and starts tearing at the constitution. Our recent supreme court history of 5-4 votes is soon comming to an end. We may not be able to stop her appointment, but we can make sure we get the next one RIGHT.

I'm wondering if the postponing of cap and tax isn't part of the smoke and miriors approach that we are all getting used to. They tell you they are postponing the vote, then they add another 500 pages ( that noone can read ), and they force the vote in the middle of the night.

I have just read the "Federalist papers" (again). I think that they need to be published again in all of the 50 states and not just in N.Y. . I also believe that if copies are sent to all of those who believe that they are representing the people of this great nation fairly actually read them, they will have a better understanding of what they are actually there to do. This may actually also bring about an understanding of the constitution that they are under oath to uphold and defend. Just a thought.______PUPLIUS
