Lots of people don't deal well with major illness and death and use humor to mask their discomfort. In my family, there's a great deal of gallows humor at a funeral. It's not disrespectful, and it doesn't mean you care any less about the person. it's the way humans react. This is an amazing woman who's had a life most of us could never imagine. She having a rough time and still manages to look amazing. Yes, she's also had a few husbands. How is it disrespectful to point that out?

it's not so clearcut. my bank charges $10 a month to use billpay services unless i keep a minimum balance in the account. it's cheaper to pay (monthly, not automatically) directly on the biller's website. there's no fee, and for mine, you get a confirmation number and immediate acknowledgement.

i agree he's just trying to cover his butt and it is pathetic the way people will "admit" something only after they've been caught doing it. but i don't get why this is such a big deal. we want our professional athletes to "wow" us. we demand a big show from them. think of how excited fans got during the sosa/mcgwire home run competition. why would we care how they get that way? isn't it their own decision what they put in their bodies?
