Trent may have been an amazing soldier and human being, and I don't see too many personal attacks on him. The police in Pierce County and indeed everywhere in America any more don't have the luxury to wait to see if someone has a gun. They are all too familiar with guns. If there's a gun in the vicinity or shots are fired, it's just training and human nature that takes over. Don't blame the police when someone with a weapon gets shot. They should expect to be shot if they intend to point that weapon at anyone or even threaten to do so.
