Your broker's wife knows what is coming in 2010. Not sure, but I believe that the ICD-9 codes (diagnosis codes) are not copyrighted and can be used without paying licensing fees. The CPT codes are copyrighted. This IS a huge monopoly run by the AMA. Every book publisher, medical software developer, etc., that must incorporate these codes into what they are doing has to pay up. The AMA is NEVER going to give this up.
