I&#039;ve been buying that one lately too. Really good - especially for only $13.50 at my local Chinese grocery store.

LandingPadBA : Biking in Buenos Aires

I highly recommend getting to know buenos Aires by this means. I haven&#039;t ventured off on my own to bike around the city but I did take a bike tour up to Tigre with Urban Biking (<a href="http://en.urbanbiking.com)" target="_blank">http://en.urbanbiking.com)</a> when I first moved here a few years ago. It was definitely an experience. Tour companies like this one often rent bikes by the day as well - could be a good alternative to purchasing a bike if you are just looking to take an occassional ride.

LandingPadBA : Non-Steak Food in Buenos Aires

I do make most of my own food for this very reason, thank you very much. Geez. Frankly, the Brazilian food here stinks. I have been to the three main Brazilian restaurants (now two, since one of them went out of business) in town and they were very overpriced and not authentic at all.

LandingPadBA : Non-Steak Food in Buenos Aires

Exactly where in my first post was I complaining? Lighten up a little. This article talks about the variety -or lack thereof-, not the quality, of food served in an average BA restaurant. Yes, there is some very good food in BA, although you cannot deny the fact that most traditional restaurants here focus on parrilla, empanadas or pizza. The salads found at these places consist of little more than lettuce, tomato and carrots, and if the place also serves fish, it is almost always fried. Of course, if you go to more upscale and ecclectic restaurants, you will find a wider variety of dishes to select from.

LandingPadBA : A trip to the salon in Buenos Aires

I&#039;ve always been told by locals that the only person you are expected to tip at a salon is the &#039;brushing&#039; or blow drying person (assuming the stylist doesn&#039;t do it). I&#039;ve been living here for almost 5 years and have never tipped for a cut or color job - whoops?

That&#039;s my pet peeve about pizza here - not enough sauce! Another big food here is the &#039;tarta&#039;. Tarta de jamon y queso, tarta de atun, tarta de pollo, pascualina de acelga, etc. And yet another item to add to the list would be the yummy &#039;pastel de papa&#039; - seasoned ground beef covered with a layer of mashed potatoes.
