John--I like it. Shows the work that you've already put in and illustrates the thesis. I think I would like it if you added some bold headers (e.g. "Thesis," "Conclusion") just because they create natural organization and make it easier to read. Did you pursue allusions to Shakespeare in other literature? I know you mentioned this on your blog earlier, but didn't see it mentioned here.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I had almost forgotten about the text book. haha. I'll look for stuff about the history plays there.

Lindsay--this is an excellent post. Even though I hadn't read some of your latest posts, I was able to follow your recent research no problem. I especially like how you incorporate the other sources and react to them. In much of my research I've borrowed information, but haven't taken the opportunity to state whether or not I agree with positions of the authors. You did this very well. Thanks for the great example.

I share your anxiety! Thanks for the great straight-forward and organized example. I think you have a lot to work with from your previous posts and it will really be just a matter or organizing it, which it looks like you've already begun to do.

Bryan. I like this. Great demonstration of your process. I also like how you're willing to admit "I have not really discovered anything new." While this may be right to some extent, you've certainly approached a topic from an interesting angle and the ideas alone could spur research for other people. This is a great example of the type of "process" description that I need to do on my own blog.

I like it a lot. It would be cool if you could include some actual Faulkner quotes about Shakespeare somewhere in your dialogue. Great idea...I'm still brainstorming a creative project for my learning outcomes.

Great post, Lindsay. Thank you especially for the input regarding my blog. I actually think I might do several posts on how Shakespeare targeted his audience, based on the current events of the time. I'll have to talk to Sara more about that documentary and see if I can look into the British history of the time that Shakespeare was writing Othello.

Claire--I just saw an article on the Harvard Business Review blog that you might be able to use: http://blogs.hbr.org/innovations-in-education/201.... It's about innovations in education. I didn't a chance to read the entire article but I'm sure there's a way to connect it to Shakespeare. Hope it helps.

Bryan--I saw an article on the Harvard Business Review blog that you might want to check out: http://blogs.hbr.org/innovations-in-education/201.... It's one part of a series that they're doing on innovations in education. This is contemporary, but I thought you might be able to find/create some parallels with Shakespeare.

You're right--I completely forgot to give Bryan credit. I updated the post to make sure he was mentioned. And I'm also pretty interested in this viral marketing aspect--I'll probably pursue it some more. The interesting thing is that not only did Shakespeare modify his sources, but the various publishers modified his plays too. The result is the same kind of ripple effect (with multiple iterations) that results from viral marketing. I'm thinking that I will pursue the topic in several more posts because it's an interesting niche that could yield some great research.
