I can't help laughing. Not just because of the spelling error, but also at the newspaper that reported it. Why? I believe it's case of the pot calling the kettle black!

The proper past tense would be 'to grind' (and isn't the usual spelling for 'crossing' , X-ing? )

Two things: first, I was tickled pink (but not surprised) to see that Patrick (whose last name you spelled incorrectly) was one of the operators who helped. Of course I'm biased. I'm his mom.

Second, while I agree that "A bike tire out the window and 3 honks obviously means something." It could mean anything! Beeping your horn and waving your blue handicap placard is far more effective.
