Search this site for "Warren Riker". This isn't the first time he's made the news. He seems to be a repeat contestant in Knox County's "Let's Make a Deal" justice system.

Every time I hear something about the Gibault School for Boys, I think, Well, what can you expect from Charlie Manson's alma mater? I hope the truck owner is OK.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but if you've never been under the sway of drugs, then you can't understand how they take over a person's life and how they can make a person opt for some very poor choices. Still, my heart does go out to the man's children.

WTHITV.com | Terre Haute, Indiana : Fleeing Driver Arrested | wthitv.com

Charging him with manslaughter isn't as simple as it sounds. His actions led to a series of events that ended with the death of a child. His actions in and of themselves did not directly--and directly is the key word here--cause the child's death. It was the chain of events between his actions and the final outcome that caused the death. If we were all held liable for the chains of events that our actions set off, we all pretty much would be sitting in prison. Or to put it more broadly, the butterfly flapping its wings in Peru cannot be held responsible under Anglo-Saxon law for the tornado in Iowa because it had no control over that causal chain. If the prosecutor tries to charge him with manslaughter, I hope the guy gets a good outside attorney who hands the prosecutor his head. And if that can't be done at trial, the appellate court will be happy to tell the prosecutor he's full of crap because from what facts are known about this case charging him with manslaughter would violate about a thousand years of Anglo-Saxon law.

http://fiddaman.blogspot.com/ : Warnings, Studies and Adverse Reactions on Psychiatric Drugs Database

Yes, the choice to just say 'no' to drugs is mine and I am more than willing to live with consequences of that choice. One of the easiest ways to get away from a shrink is telling him that you feel absolutely no responsibility of his claims the drugs he peddles are helpful and that he will have to take responsibility for making those claims and live with the consequences of making them. Shrinks refuse to take responsibility or live with the consequences for anything they do and it is your duty to hold their feet to the fire.

I think Baldwin should be forced to pay the City's legal bills for defending itself against a suit without any merit and a suit that's been brought about by his own idiocy. There's a reason he's an incumbent who lost in the primaries. Oh, and you should have had a picture of the building so that the folks who've never seen it can see what the City was getting for $300,000. By the way, I have some magic beans for sale, Mayor Baldwin.

Practice of Madness : Antique "Jesus" Licence Plate, circa Florida, 2003 (A Fable)

Austin is an incredibly hipster city in Texas. It's not like the rest of the state. But there are queers everywhere here in the US. Including me in a tiny town in the middle of BFE in the state of Indiana. lol. My state may be north of the Mason-Dixon line, but I still see an incredible number of Confederate flags in these parts. Sorry about Homeland Security. I live in such an isolated area where everyone knows everyone else and I don't travel much so I'm not bothered by such thugs. It's very sad what my country has become. It's even sadder that the other industrial powers seem to want to become just like us :-(

Practice of Madness : "The Vagina Monologues, Part Two" (anonymous male author)

He needs to find a nice queer boy and settle down. (That's not my line. It comes from an early John Waters movie, Female Troubles, stunning for its depravity and misogyny.) Xanthippe was my favorite epithet for a woman. She was quite the shrew and the reason Socrates hung out in the agora and chased after the 14-year-old boys. Seriously, though, I could never grasp this dissonance between men and women, but I have an excuse, I guess. I'm a total Kinsey 7.
