Cusack Tap a Whirl, Cusack Fuzz Screamer, Visual Sound Liquid Chorus. I use all those in my live rig. Also Guyatone Flip Tremolo is awesome

To say that one pedal is "the best on the market" might be a little strong, since I haven't played them all. That said, I have tried a LOT of overdrive pedals and I always go back to the Fulldrive 2...

You need to go with the one you like! Don't worry about what other people think. If you like the "metal" one and think you can get the tones you want, go for it! I really think either of those guitars would be a suitable option :)

Sorry man - I've been out of pocket the last couple of weeks and haven't updated the blog! I'm on it, though :)

Thanks for your patience - I promise I haven't forgotten the Beginners series. I am hoping to get some new posts unfurled in a few days!

Good observations there, Wayne. If you've seen me live before, you know that all my other guitars have humbuckers. The soapbar pickups were a big part of what drew me to this guitar in the first place. Very hip and vintage sounding, but they work great for modern sounds too. Yes, there are some noise issues involved with any single coil pickups, but on the Mark Lee guitars I've really only noticed it at ridiculously loud volumes or when I have a lot of effects running.

Hope this answers your question!
