I'd rather the mets swing a trade for Kelly Shoppach if they are dealing for a Cleveland Catcher. He's not going to cost as much in return and is a solid hitter and a good defender. He's also stuck catching only 2 or 3 tims a week.

The Mets are currently batting .285 as a team which is 5th in all of baseball. They have the 4th best OBP in Baseball. Yet they are 18th in baseball with 55 runs. With the other stats you'd figure they would at least be top 10. But that's where the issue has been. They get the guys on, they just aren't getting them in. That's why you probably got a negative feedback. because they are hitting fine. Just getting no situational hitting.

They are alive, they just aren't clicking. I mean 12 hits is very very good. But they had nothing to show for it. The Mets are currently batting .285 as a team which is 5th in all of baseball. They have the 4th best OBP in Baseball. Yet they are 18th in baseball with 55 runs. Also the slugging hasn't been there either. They are something around 25th in the Majors in Slugging.

I agree with you 100%. I voted for the RISP only because had they had one or 2 more hits the team would be off to a better start then 6-6 and you wouldn't be hearing about any of this.

Are you serious? You think the players actually care if there are no references to anyone in the stadium? The only ones who care are the Fans.

TRS i agree with you. I only voted for RISP because it's the only thing that has bothered me to date and that I'm worried about. The SP I'm not concerned with, the Bullpen not at all. The Defense and hitting I'm not yet either. So i had to vote for something and the Marlins, the Bench don't worry me. And i would never complain about the Lack of Decor in the stadium

To all those bringing back that we should have signed Manny. He is currently 3-19 with RISP for a nice .158 BA.. He has 5 RBI in those situations. So would he have made an early difference. Looking at those numbers, not really. Murphy is 3-8 (.375) with 6RBI which is who he would have replaced on the team if he was signed. Church is 2-17(.118) with 4 RBI. So you can't say Manny would have helped win a single thing so far. If you wanted Manny you wanted Manny. But to say he would have helped when in the same situations he's under preforming in a ridiculously small sample size ,he's worse then Murphy and a tad better then church.

I think your all over anaylizing it a little bit. Nothing bad, but I think jerry is just keeping people Fresh. I agree with Matt that you would think Carlos didn't get a day off yet so it would be his turn. But with Figgy on the mound and the Large CF in Citi that Manuel wants his defense out there. I might be over thinking it also. Lets go METS!!!!!! SWEEP

Isn't it already the KFC Post game report.... It's ridiculous and rather annoying. Everything is sponsored. Mets and yankees got everything covered. 15th batter, geico wants to remind you that you can save 15% or more on car insurance.... That stolen base is brought to you by Lo Jack..... I can't even remember all of them. Still thank god Guisseppe Franco is no longer on commercials.

Yeah a little scary. Sheff isn't that bad out there. But the other 2 are going to be shaky. IF tatis can play 2nd, this team has the ability to run out a very very scary lineup on certain days.

No you can be critical. But to com on here after 9 games and say the "Season is over" Marlins are better. Mets are a 4th place team is ludicrous! The season isn't even 10% over. Maybe the mets players have no confidence because the Fans like you think they are going to fail before they even get a chance to succeed. OHHHHHHHHHHHHH mets stink. Only good player is Johan, but you were probably of the ilk who for half of last year called him over rated. That's what i mean.

I would fall in the 5%. Which as i'm annoyed that the team hasn't gotten off to a fast start i realize it's 9 games. And there have been positives all through out the team. From Maine's good first start. To Ollie's good 2nd start. To the bullpen being lights out when needed to be. To Murphy hitting well. To Church Delgado and Beltran off to hot starts. To David Wright hitting above 300 though he's obviously not seeing the ball well. Yes the record isn't great. But i still very much like this team, and still think this team has a shot to be special. I mean 9 games into the season i don't think it's over!

I agree with your first Paragraph and anyone who is mad about the Jackie Robinson Rotunda should not be allowed to follow baseball. Because for Baseball and the country he was as important as any player in the history of the sport. HE IS BIGGER THEN THE METS AND THEN BASEBALL.. You can't blame the mets fans for being impatient. But the people you hear on the radio and on this blog get annoying. Its all Doom and Gloom. They have no positive outlooks at all. they have no glass half full, it's always completely empty.

i think every yankee fan, their entire franchise, and Tons of people would disagree with you. O'Neil was on the 2001 team. They didn't win. But if you want to go with guys they lost from the 2001-2002 team. Oneil, Tino, Chuck Knoblock, and Scott Brosius. So they could be the reason they haven't won. Again baseball isn't a 1 person team. Maybe Tino or Knoblock were the leaders. Maybe Brocius.

I"m fairly confident. 1) Johan is Johan 2) Pelfrey had a rocky start. Personally i think he will turn it around. If he had this tendonitis it easily cold have effected his pitching. His Walks and his HR's are not what he typically does. So he can easily come back if the forearm is nothing that is serious. I still see him emerging as the #2 pitcher, and being very effective. 3)Ollie was exactly what you thought he would be. Yes he was Bad his first start, but he was Tremendeous his 2nd. Which is Typical Ollie, and the Ollie that has 25 wins in 2 seasons with the Mets. So I see him being successful and building on the success he had. But he will still have his clunker. but he can finish with 13-15 wins. 4) John Maine showed both games he's fine, he's healthy, and his velocity is starting to pick up to where it should be. Yes that one inning was scary bad, but even as he said he had a few singles find holes and a walk or 2. The first game he struggled and made it though and pitched very well after the 2 Homers to the Marlins 2 best hitters. The problem with him as been getting deeper into a game. Which he still hasn't done. Livan will be Livan. He will take the ball every 5th day and pitch 5+ innings. That's what i expected from him when he was trying to win the job, and its what he did in his first start. Hes a #5 pitcher and what you want in that position. A guy to take the ball and Pitch every day. So i'm not worried. Its 9 games into the season. If it was the end of may would i be worried. YES. It's not even the end of April. lots of Good teams are off to slow starts. It happens. One nice winning streak and this is a very good record. The offense hasn't been clicking. 3 or 4 guys are hitting and the others aren't. Jesus this isn't football. Every Game isn't a do or die situation. This mets team has won 88 and 89 games the past 2 years, and this team is far more complete then those 2.

Agreed. If they aren't complaining about a GM who's lead the mets from a laughing stock to a yearly contender. To a Rotation that is the complete opposite of what it had been the prior 3 years. To a bullpen that has been re-built, and so far been pretty successful. To a lineup which starts 3 players under 27. 2 Guys in the mid 30's. People yell and scream to get younger, when they do they yell and scream to get the older FA's. They will complain about the stadium. It's NY and nobody is ever Happy. I mean people were seriously complaining about the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. Seriously, how can you do that? Jackie Robinson is Bigger then baseball. He played in the National League in New York. And what team is in the National League in New York? The Mets!!! So who should be the team to celebrate him the most... The METS!!!! The Mets are in existence because of the Dodgers and Giants moving. It's Fact. Fact of the matter is Most Met fans are met fans because of their parents. Who If you in my age 25-30, their parents either grew up Brooklyn Dodgers fans or NY Giants fans. Those teams no longer play here so as My father did when the Mets came around he became a Mets Fan. So you can celebrate the Dodgers, and Giants histories in NY. It's part of the NY Baseball history in the NL. I'm not saying Celebrate all the Old Great Giants and Dodgers. But you can Celebrate the History of the Stadium (Ebbets or Polo Grounds) and the History those teams has in NY. Yes they should have put a Mets Museum and it's ridiculous they didn't even really think about it. Yes they should have more statues of some of the greats, and Classic Mets. But seriously there are only a handful.

that has been answered 100 times by Omar. If you want to hear it again, it's because Perez was the best Pitcher left available and the money manny wanted was out of the budget that was set. Plus Many's agent is the same as Perez's. Also there are as many met fans who like what omar did in the offseason as there are who though without manny it was a failed offseason. I personally like the makeup of this team. The only pitcher i wanted above Ollie was CC or Lowe for a 2 year deal.
