Thanks melsydney. You are absolutely right, a sort of network among family members, to communicate so phone lines won't be saturated. Assign each member of the family to whom they should call and so on. Glad you are not afraid, is best to keep calm, hard to expect it from people who has never been in an earthquake.

Calm down folks. No need to panic. I am a survivor of one of the srongest earthquakes ever, 9.5 in Chile. Tsunami and everything. All you need is to practice safety. Get an earthquake kit....bottled water, batteries, matches, flashlights, canned foods, battery operated radio, propane grill, oxygenated water, band-aids, water decontaminated tablets, iodized salt. Keep it in a safe place at all times, keep it updated.
Remember, if the shaking is so strong and violent that you can not keep standing on your own feet, run to higher places....tsunami for sure if you live at sea level. Have a good night folks. I care, but I am not scared.

Food, water, medications were sent to them, thru a special tube called "palomas" ( pigeons), which has compartments, they have been in constant medical care from the surface via digital TV, as well as psycological care on a daily basis. Flashlights were provided to them. Amazingly strong men, I totally admire them.
They must wear special clothing and gear as well as special sunglasses to protect their eyes. A monitor attached to their belts will be taking their blood pressure, heart beats and will warn their Doctors of any problem they could encounter while ascending....hopefully it won't happen.
