What if she had scars on her face? Would she have to wear a mask so you would not have to look at them? Or what if it were a male breast cancer survivor? Would he have to cover up?

True but that wasn't what I had at the time. A note from the parent and telling the children not to share the sunblock should be sufficient to prevent allergic reactions.

I remember when I was in third grade and got in trouble for bringing sunscreen to school. They would not let me apply it and confiscated it. I applied sunscreen in the morning but you have to reapply it several times during the day for it to be effective. It's ridiculously stupid to require a doctors note.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : With bus ridership on the rise, commuters struggling to find parking spots | Local & Regional | Seat

Sounder train stops in Tukwila. There is plenty of parking there within a few minutes walk of the station. It's how I commute to Seattle daily. Also it's much faster than Light Rail which takes twice as long.

Yeah I know that it is possible. I've been driving a manual for years now but I don't text because I don't want to. Also depends on the type of phone you have.

Teens should drive cars with manual transmissions. Really hard to text while driving one of those since you often need to use both of your hands. The people I see texting behind the wheel are usually well past their teenage years. I've even seen someone reading a Kindle while driving down I-5.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Diploma witheld after family cheers too loud at graduation | Offbeat | Seattle News, Weather, Sports

Maybe they told all the students that they had to tell their families not to cheer and the consequences if they didn't follow the rules. I doubt that the diploma-withholding was a surprise. I think my school held your diploma for an extra week but no community service. The school considered it our job to convince our families to follow the rules, which exist for a reason.

At my graduation in '10, there were 500+ grads and two name readers on opposite sides of the stage which alternated. There were no pauses for any students and you walked across the stage, shook hands and posed for your picture, and then walked down the middle aisle. It was quick because there were other schools booked at the center after us. Students were told at the rehearsal that the parents should not cheer during this time, it was also on the school's handout about the ceremony, and they were asked at least once during the ceremony before the names were read. It IS disruptive if you were repeatedly warned not to cheer and it can turn into a cheering contest between groups who want to prove that they love their kid more. Cheering at the end of all the names also makes things more equal for all the students. Some students had no families to cheer for them while others had groups of 20.

I don't think they should have withheld his diploma, but his family and friends should have been much more respectful of other people and to wait until the end to cheer, like they were asked. If it was like my high school graduation ceremony, then the names were read in quick succession because there were hundreds of graduates. Loud and prolonged cheering results in the next person's name not being heard. Parents were asked before the ceremony and during the ceremony to be respectful and quiet, but there were several families who just unable to handle that.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Man charged with slapping loud kid in theater | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Br

We have a home theater system too, but I occasionally like to see some movies when they are first released. I'm probably going to go see The Avengers soon and hope this brat and those like him will not be there. Early morning showings tend to have less rude people.

I don't condone his actions but I definitely get why he did it. I almost never go to the theater because of the unbelievably rude patrons like this kid and his friends. Where were his parents and his manners? The last few times I went to the theater, there was a woman who brought an infant to a PG-13 movie and at a 10:40 pm showing of Beauty and the Beast, there was a couple with very young children who ran all over the theater. I don't think those kids were in their seat for even 5 minutes, their dad slept and mom texted throughout the movie. I often hear or see phones. It's very expensive to see these movies and rude people ruin it. Now I usually wait until the movie is at Redbox and watch it at home.

Wow I didn't know this type of technology was possible already. There is a lot of potential for this technology which uses the electrical activity in our brain. Reminds me of Red Dwarf, when Lister uses the robotic arm, but hopefully these real robots will work better than that.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Dream prom dress turns into nightmare from Everett teen | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather,

The story made it seem like she got the dress very close to prom, so there wasn't time for it to be fixed. It really is best to buy things like this after you see them in person and try them on, which I think your sister has learned now. When I was shopping for my dress, I looked at many websites which might have been like the site your sister bought her dress from. I wasn't sure about how the dresses would fit so I bought it from a local store. I'm glad to hear that she had a good time at prom anyway.

I bought my prom dress from a local boutique a few years ago. There are several local places she could have gone to, although the dresses would have been a lot more than $90. My dress was also several inches too long, but my mother and I were able to hem it quite easily and remove some of the poofy underlayer. She should have bought the dress much earlier so she could see if it needed alterations. This is not newsworthy whatsoever.

I'm a woman and I think he should be allowed to play, especially since there is no field hockey teams for boys that he could join. Don't lump all women together, many of us despise double standards like this. I'm athletic and was often chosen for teams before most guys in PE class because I could play the sports better than many of them. I think players should be chosen by ability, not gender, unless it's a strictly gender-specific team.

Food and other supplies are provided by volunteers, not tax dollars. It said that in the article. I'm supportive of this program. It gives cats who would have been euthanized somewhere to go, where they are cared for until they can be adopted. It also is a good thing for the inmates, who become better behaved and perhaps less likely to reoffend.

Sorry about my misconception. Either way, it doesn't change my opinion of the teenagers. I can't believe that Amanda would need convincing from her cousin in order to save the cats. I'm happy that her family did take in two of the cats but she needs to find new friends. Friends that don't hurt and abandon animals for $30.

The scum who abused those poor cats deserve worse treatment than they gave those cats. What kind of sick freak buys animals just to torture them and leave them to die? I think Amanda should tell the police who these evil people are. Amanda did a good thing by finding and helping the cats, but why was she with these people to begin with? I'm sure that she could have guessed that they were bad people before this. Poor kitties =(
