I think we're closer on point #1 than you think but I did not reflect my opinion well enough. I agree there are bona fide social media experts in the community but there are more and more people that tout the title without the real background. As you said "using social media doesn't make you an expert". That statement is what I should have used. Great point on #2.

Good point Jeff. There are many photographic society clubs around the area. Best way to find them is to search Google for your locality and photographic society. Out here in Reston we have a pretty active group but I've yet to interact with them. I need to change that.

Ok, to be honest we are not sure. Their main website lists days they are open but it looks like it is referring to the whole building. The page for the Exhibit and Rotunda http://www.archives.gov/nae/visit/ does not list days. We are attempting to call and confirm but there is a good chance it is open. Almost every other government museum of this type is, if they are closed it would surprise me.

You are correct Jeff, I misread their website. Here is what I sent the members of our Facebook group this morning: Good morning. I'm sorry to say that I made a big mistake on today's photowalk. I misread the Archives website and it appears they are closed on Sundays. My deepest apologies for this mistake. I plan to still meet up at the steps of the Archives at noon and we can determine then what the group wants to do for the next couple of hours. If you would like to skip this portion we will meetup prior to the parade at 1:45 at the entrance to the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro stop. Again my sincere apologies. Marc...

You mentioned in the write-up that there were 50+ more alternative sites that could be included. Any way to access them or am I just not seeing it?
