I'm excited to see what Brad can in the backfield.
Well, how could it be academics if he hasn't started the semester yet? Could he have slipped up during the spring semester? I hope for the best for him.
We got a pretty big contingent of Hawkeye fans here in Austin too. My step-son plays in the Marching Band during football season at LBJ High school. Who's their coach you ask? None other than former Iowa wide out Demo Odoms.
I think it would have been fair if Feinstein mentioned that the current BCS setup plays a huge role in this realignment frenzy. Getting teams into super conferences is a step, but the those conferences need to establish a fair schedule within and determine a true conference champion. Then as system such as the BCS can be established that would determine a national champion. I know this is far fetched, but a least Feinstein needs to acknowledge realignment is not just a money grab but an attempt to bring Independents under the conference tent.
Mac is a class act.Living in Austin I get to see it every year.
And you are a professional editor? Doc is doing a great job on his BLOG.
Schools like UNI are immune from the "curse".
Bruce Pearl will not accept any offer from Iowa. In fact, I doubt he would even listen to Barta. Heck, he may even laugh...
While I like Barbee and his pedigree I can't help to think he has yet to acquire the tools to repair the loose screws and stripped bolts of this Iowa program. The program needs a master carpenter not a journeyman to put the pieces back together. That man is Rick Barnes of the University of Texas. He comes with a tool belt full of experience in reformation projects. He took a UT program that was floundering under Tom Penders and assembled a final four team. Barnes would fit perfectly in the Big Ten with his tough defense (ok, Horns stink on D this year) and bristly personality. The only negative I see, and it is a big one, is that he is a friend of Steve Alford.
