Ok so that means Telia cant unlock it after one year then? Without replacing the phone!!??
Don’t thinks so.
I agree that its hardware but still according to the unlock process it reads from an database at Apple upon activation (iTunes). So still it should work to intercept the request, But its probably hard to decode or it would have been done.

Still someway its connected to Apple and UDID!?
Or how do they get it unlocked?

Hmm. Thoght it was combined. Sense the procedure (according to Telia) is that they take your UDID and register it (unregister) with Apple.Then you need to make a restore of your iphone. Then after you activate it with itunes it is provider free.

Regarding provider lock isn't there a possibility to do it like the signing server that Cydia has. Sense the iphone connects to Apple to see what provider this unit belongs to. Then it should be possible to intercept this and provide a response that it should be “providerless”...
Just a thought.
