the reason for the fight was that the younger guy was obnoxiously screaming loud to show his support. Much like an Aston Villa bar when they score. Except where it's normal in the bar, the old folks didnt quite like it and asked if he could tone it down. Apparently that's what got it started. Funny though, u'd indeed expect it from hooligans and not at a tennis tournament let alone a major.

There is a difference. The surface is different from soccer / football. Plus soccer and football have special equipment for the weather circumstances. They got special shoes for grass. And besides soccer / football / hockey are played on 1 surface not 4 different ones.

Yes but when it rains and u play on grass , the ball wont bounce properly. Maybe not at all. Plus slippery grass makes it more difficult for players to avoid injuries. Same goes for the rest of the courts.

It's not an insult to a player of Ana's calibre.Yes she had great successes in the past but let's be honest here: Her results in the last couple of years just aren't that good. I understand why the Rogers Cup would pick a domestic player over Ana. The Rogers Cup also needs to promote Canadian tennis.

Actually Roger Federer said the same thing about Rafa changing his playing style a few years ago. The physical part of his game is tearing his body apart and making minor changes to his game would have him last longer.

I agree with you that she won't be number one anymore. Effective top 20 player, well that would be her place. But to say that she is going to get back to number 1? No that's too much. We all saw how many top 10 players surpassed her in pace and power. And her weak serve wont help her with nowadays tennis. I am hoping for the best for Hingis but for now the best is, as far I can see, is the top 20.

What Don Imus doesn't get is that for some people it's not just about the money. It's about the winning.
