Yea, I hear ya'! Hawkins is starting to sound like a broken record. I like the guy but man, you gotta show some progress. He hasn't done that in 5 years. I can hardly stand to listen to him anymore, in fact, I routinely tune him out and listen only to the players. Signed No KoolAid for me, thanks.

Kyle You looking to ruffle some feathers? HAH HAH! I thought it was funny though sad we have become a joke of a program around the country. Per the Big Tuna "You are what your records says you are!" which means the Buffs are simply not good!

Kyle As the Buffs beat reporter for the DC, and a pretty darn good one at that, we fans presume that you have a unique perspective on this whole situation. Some of which you can share, and do on the regular Monday evening chats, but most of which you probably can't share. Your piece today gives some much needed perspective for all of Buff Nation! Hope you are right and that the "powers that be" really are listening! We shall see. Go BUFFS!

Bob Simmons at Oklahoma State, Mac's personal choice to replace him instead of Neuheisel. Brown went on to coach successfully in the NFL before returning.Cabral could coach anywhere. A stellar cast indeed. Question is does this staff measure up? We'll never know unless/until Hawk lets 'em go.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Woelk: No excuses for Buffs` performance - Buffzone

Well said, Neil. You covered all of the issues I observed from a seat 10 rows from the field. Count me as a tired alum who has grown tired of losing and, more importantly, of the lack of tangible, demonstrable progress in the program. Having players who are good, smart guys is great. Translating those qualities and their TALENT to the field has somehow eluded this regime. I saw NO difference from the Buffs performance tonight and that woeful night when Mizzou hung a 55-10 shellacking on the Buffs in Folsom two years ago, other than that CSU didn't have the horses to run up that type of number on the Buffs. And I was an eye witness to both of these debacles. Either way it was an alarmingly abysmal display. The team was unprepared, uninspired and downright disinterested for the entire 1st half and during many other key stretches of the "contest" and I use that term loosely. As an example, the 1st half punt return that CSU picked up on the bounce and ran for an additional 20 yards while the CU gunner stood and watched apparently stunned that the Ram player didn't let the ball bounce out of bounds. Unbelievable.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : WR Smith, TE Wallace to leave Colorado football program : Top Stories : Boulder Daily Camera

Agreed that no one player is indispensable. And, indeed the sun will rise as always on the eastern plains. My point was and is that this kid brought an explosiveness (and yes inconsistency/unpredictability -if that's a word) to an offense sorely lacking in play makers. His efforts as a return man left him at the top of the heap of some pretty impressive names in CU kick return history including: Cliff Branch, Cullen Bryant, Jeff Campbell and Jeremy Bloom. That kind of productivity is not easily replaced. In the short term at least, the Buffs are a more dangerous team with Josh on the fly. That said, the Buffs have no choice but to move on and I am confident they will do so! Go BUFFS!

No doubt. Forgot about Cameron Wright. Whatever happened to Kyle Black? He left didn't he? They definitely need more arms in camp. Bet the coaches shorten the scrum tomorrow. I'm wondering about the psyche of the last two standing. These guys have spent a few years together competing, working around each other daily and now one's abruptly gone. Interesting development indeed.

Agreed. Ringo's been saying for sometime that the coaching staff was looking for Bally to show more leadership in the huddle, in practice, etc. There was a photo from practice a couple days ago that said alot. Cody and bally are on the sideline watching drills. Little Hawk looks focused as if he's intently watching practice and Bally looks like he's thinking about his next vacation. Note that Hawkins implies that Bally's better days ahead are on the hardcourt with a round ball! That said to those of us who have been watching this situation there's no real surprise here. It's disappointing to see the kid go as he really does seem to be a quality person. Good luck in your future endeavors, Matt!
