Funny that a video game article unified the comments in Big Hollywood against it.

A) Bioware has been introducing homosexual scenarios for years now. This is no surprise to a knowledgeable video gamer, nor is it something that is thrust upon by the game. It depends entirely on your ability to navigate the dialogue options within the game. B) This is not an attempt to take away any child's innocence since no child should be playing MMOs to begin with. Besides, such a claim for any game is pretty silly. Remember, gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry, larger than any other entertainment industry today, with an audience that extends further than 8 year old little Jimmy and Billy Smith. C) The game hasn't even been released yet, so 500,000 families aren't being caught off guard since they don't even have the game. Hell, there isn't even an open beta yet! Besides, if the game was released, chances are that behind the box under the T rating, there would be a "Suggestive Themes" or "Strong Sexual Contact" along with "Violence" and "Substance Use" next to it along with the standard MMO warning "Game Experience may change during Online Play", meaning anything goes when it comes to the anonymity the internet brings to human interaction. Come on, when will people learn some self responsibility?

Says who? Weird statement, brah. Besides, "whites" aren't some homogeneous group, the same way hispanics and blacks aren't homogeneous. I've already stated a few examples of ethnic heritages in the white community that have days and events of pride. Hell, here in Buffalo, we have Italian festivals held to celebrate the Italian community. I think you are over blowing the whole "woe is me for being white in America" thing, assuming you are white.

That wasn't the point. He argued with a heckler who was more proud to be a Mexican citizen in America than an American in America. Rather than pander to the heckler's belief that Southwest America is Mexican territory, he proudly put his American patriotism in display.

One more thing; proclaiming myself as a proud PR has less to do with color and more about linking myself to a particular location to which I have much pride for. However, not as much as America, a country I have more affinity to due to my upbringing here. My saying that Williams being a proud Black man has more to do with my unknowing of where he is from. Black people are not just from Africa, ask my grandmother. Where ever Williams hails from, I'm sure he shares a similar pride. Still, America is where our home is, and we share that with many "white people" like those from Germany, Ireland, England, France, Italy, Greece, and Sweden.

Why not indeed? Everybody has a family history tied to cultural beginnings and it should be celebrated along with their current personal history in this nation. Of course, that is assuming that was an honest statement and not a troll.

If he did vote for Obama, what does it matter? Not every person is going to be 100% in line on every issue, same with Mila Kunis. At least Kat Williams is right to defend his country by showing such pride so scarcely seen in celebrities . I am a proud Puerto Rican like Williams is a proud Black person, but we are all proud Americans first.

Big Hollywood : Ed O'Neill's Walk of Fame Star in Front of Shoe Store

You have no idea how many times as a kid of 12 I looked forward to watching Married with Children. Granted, I wasn't supposed to be watching it in the first place, but boy did I laughed at the epic misadventures of America's most unlucky shoe salesman. I appreciated the jokes more as I grew older. The most interesting part about the show was that no matter how dysfunctional the Bundys were, and good lord they were, they were willing to stick together as a family, and if needed, whopped ass together. Ed totally deserves recognition for his outstanding and highly underrated career.

Big Hollywood : Comic Aims to Correct the 9/11 'Big Lie'?

Comic books are normally seen single issue serials, while graphic novels are collections/volumes/single stories. Also, comic books as a term tends to be a misnomer since the word "comic" is meant to mean something comical, which was carried over from an older era of comic strips aimed at children. This idea has evolved since the first appearance of comic books with "the Funnies" during the 30s. Since the 60s and 70s started producing comics with an aim to deliver a more complete story than a 32 page serial can cover, there needed to be a separation. Thus the term "graphic novel" was born, which allowed great artists to tackle themes and issues that wouldn't work in comics sold by the checkout of a supermarket. While it can be called a pretense by people such as yourself, it is at least more accurate than using an inaccurate blanket term like "comics". It's like calling everything that moves and has an engine an automobile when its not really close to true. So yeah, comics or graphic novels tackling these issues is nothing new, nor should it be ridiculed due to some archaic preconception of what they should be. What can be ridiculed is how the author/artist is handling the topics like 9/11, especially when this guy is mixing time travel with debunked conspiracy theories during a tragic event.

Big Hollywood : A Brief History of Comics: Part II

I personally feel that what started with Image Comics in regards to a greater push for creator ownership truly manifested in the online comic community. You can start something with a next to nil budget (outside of materials), build a community, and if you are succeed, you can sell past issues/volumes as well as merchandise to support yourself. You won't be rich, but plenty of creators are managing to be self sufficient using this approach while being free from editors. Eventually, you get a Penny Arcade or an Axe Cop where the comic is so popular, the creators get deals from big publishers like Dark Horse and Image. It's definitely a pro-capitalist field where the creators are force to acknowledge that they are business people, and their ability to sell their product directly affects their ability to live day by day. It makes me respect people like Dave Sim, Wendy Peni, and Jeff Smith even more since they weren't exactly living in the ease of the internet age when they started.

I adore comics. Its been a huge influence to me when I was growing up, and it drove me back to school as a 27 yr. old painting major in hopes of becoming a comic book artist after several years of difficulty finding a steady job in this defunct economy. It's a shame that my current financial situation is as bad as it is, because I would love more books to call my own. Top ten comic book series/stories I've read so far are The Dark Knight Returns, A Contract with God, Maus, The Killing Joke, The Walking Dead (Issues 1-47), Cerebus (High Society and Church and State), Bone, Ghost in the Shell, Great Teacher Onizuka (Volume 1-12), and Akira.
