Big Government : Hugh Hewitt: Breitbart 'Would Never Not Fight'

I came over to Big Government this morning hoping it wasn't true. Hoping Breitbart was pulling some stunt for some reason. I loved AB. He did more in his 43 years than most of us manage in a lifetime. I don't know him in any way, personally, but I miss him.

I pretty much watch Fox News, The Food Network and Monday Night Football on espn, also some lifetime movies. That's it. I watch almost no network tv, even. How do I get that without cable?

This is so true. We watch maybe five or at most ten channels. The rest are just there, being paid for. And there is no choice either all or nothing.

Big Hollywood : Celebs Slammed for Partying in Same Building as Houston's Body

I'll add here that, though we all can remember Whitney at her peak. That amazing voice, and so beautiful, that electric, sweet smile...the truth is, she was 'over' for a long time. The same for Michael Jackson. yes there is mourning but it's for long ago, before they descended into irrelevance. Now that the reportedly near bankrupt Houston is gone, people can start really cashing in on her image, really getting rich like they did with Jackson and Elvis

Maybe if the government would quit hanging ridiculous regulations on insurance companies like free birth control, insurance companies could cover your cancer or brain tumor for a little less than $1000 a month in premiums.

I just want to know how these people are living. Who can just go CAMP somewhere for months? Where is their money coming from? It had better not be coming, not one cent, from the government and my tax dollars. The reason this kind of thing ends quickly is because people have JOBS, they need to WORK. and yet somehow, these folks don't seem to have jobs and don't need to work. So where is the money coming from? Their parents? George Soros? The Democratic Party? Unions? WHERE????

Big Government : Mitch Daniels Responds to Obama's Class Warfare with Even More Class Warfare

Means testing for Social Security and Medicare....it sounds good, reasonable...even though rich people have paid and paid and paid for those programs. But if they do means testing then it seems reasonable to let people who aren't going to get that money....drop out. But then what if the rich get poor (ex. Terrell Owens) and NEED the programs. You know what? I think the government needs to get out of our lives. That'd simplify everything.

Big Hollywood : Comedian Brooks Shows How to Get Snubbed in Style

I'm always so excited when the Oscars are announced. Finally they've attached the red flags. You know...the red flags to movies telling me they're lousy and avoid them, even if they're free on TV. Those red flags. The Oscars are, to me, a bright and shiny To Not Buy list.

The sad thing is, I used to really LIKE Wanda Sykes. I thought she was really funny. But I just refuse to listen to people insult me. I just refuse. You'd think insulting half their audience into dropping their shows/movies/stand up comedy acts would be so obviously bad judgment that they'd control themselves, but they just can't shut up and I'm not going to pay money to be insulted anymore.

Big Government : Monday Open Thread: Shah Edition

Carter not propping up the Shah led to all the madness in the Middle East. Now Obama not propping up Egypt and Libya and who knows what all dictators in the Middle East is going to make it worse. The Middle East has two kinds of government. Either tyrants or Islamic fanatics(which are also tyrants but of a different kind). The exceptions are Iraq and Afghanistan and of course Israel. And I don't see Iraq and Afghanistan lasting long without the US Military protecting those rulers. The difference is the tyrants like Mubarak can be bribed and will work with us while they're killing their own people, the fanatics can't. I wonder why they can't sustain a democracy? I blame all that oil wealth. In an unstable country all that wealth is just too tempting to tyrants.

Big Government : Obama to Bypass Senate, 'Recess Appoint' Agency Head with Sweeping Powers

The arrogance would be comical if he wasn't destroying the country. We're over the debt ceiling again. And yet where is the panicky outcry we heard last summer? All the republican candidates have a past. They've worked, they've led, they've made decisions. They haven't voted PRESENT. Our country more and more votes for the inexperienced because anyone who DOES anything can be trashed, so Blank Slate please. One of the reasons we keep getting these young presidents Clinton/Bush/Obama who go on to cost us a fortune in retirement for forty years...is because if you've done anything, you can be destroyed by it. I'd end that. Like an ex-president can't support himself??? I'm officially off topic. Sorry
