I then used itunes to option restore. After it said prepping I got error 17 and the phone rebooted into dfu mode. I tried the power home reboot to no avail. i then used itunes to restore, and surprisingly after it rebooted I had the 3.1.2 firmware, and cydia was installed. I just restored from itunes with custom firmware (not in DFU) and it seemed to work.
