I'm also a total newb and I just bought an iphone 3g (locked from AT&T) version 2.2.1 and firmware 02.30.03. I would like to unlock to use it with other foreign carriers (i.e. in ITALY/RUSSIA). I'm really confused can I just use QuickPwn and get it unlocked? if I use iQuickPwn what are the consequence if I can not use Yellowsn0w ?
Does it mean that next time I upgrade or sync the phone it will get locked for good ?
