I live nearby, and drive on this street everyday. First of all, drunk or not drunk, too many people are speeding on this road... and everyday I've seen that boat there I had the feeling it was a sitting target to be hit by somebody... drinking, speeding, or just a simple distraction. There is no room for error. I don't even park my vehicle along that road as it really seems to be more like a wide shoulder. Not to mention, this particular area where the accident occurred was right after a curve in the road which made it a little more of a sketchy situation.
That being said of course it is a horrible event all around. I am sorry for the boat owner, and of course for the passenger and driver. Thoughts and prayers for all involved...
