The mom died? Interesting. I thought that was her in my class last night. I never once blamed her. People like yourself who can't interpret comments just took it that way. I do blame parents who let their kids play on the internet, talk to strangers and go to chat rooms where danger lurks. Parents should be monitoring activities at home. They also should not be taking them to meet a stranger plus leaving them with a stranger. Luckily the boy lived. Innocent? No way! Lazy mom? Perhaps.

The perp poses as a teen age girl and the mother doesn't suspect anything? Meets him on MySpace. Let's her son spend the night with a stranger? There is definately something wrong here.

If my responses are weak it may be because this is a weak time for our family. I do not assume anything about this accident. The media does not present all the evidence so you are not aware of it. Only one person ever did everything perfect in His life and never made a mistake. Your statement is full of what could have beens, thus making, would like to see what you would do ifs, etc. You are missing many facts obviously but then you are just reading the newspaper. No boasts were made in my statement. The mother is only one of the victims. God was in control of the entire situation. The loss of a child is something you have never experienced. I have. We pray for peace, acceptance, strength and for the pain to go away. We pray for the law enforcement officer and the man who rear ended the car and killed a child. We pray for bitter people such as yourself. God knew this would happen long before we did and nothing could have prevented it.

How funny! You use the word blame two more times. You blame her. I point out reality, prevention and defensive driving.
If you are not aware of conditions around you, you should take measures to be safe yourself. You should be aware of what is happening on the road when you are driving; rear view mirror and side mirrors are safety measures car manufacturers provide. Unless you have the radio/stereo up too loud you can hear those sirens. They are made at such a pitch for a reason. Look in your driver's manual - you know the book you study before you get your driver's license. What does it say to do when you hear/see emergency vehicles on the road? Pull over or stop so they can go around you. You made my point again. Many people ignore this so when you try to pull over and the person behind or beside you did not it is a bad situation.
I know she didn't obey the law because she was on the road in front of a high speed chase in which the officer had lights/sirens on. Againnot mebut you said she was "at fault". What was unsafe about the place the officer initiated the chase?I see those videosyou mention also - almost daily. It is part of my job. You might get hit due to a careless act on the part of a person braking the law and driving at a high rate of speed. The risk factor of getting killed is lessened if you have moved out of the way and are not sitting right in front of him.
Why are you so intent on placing blame? That is up to a much higher power than yourself. Drive careful now and obey the law.

I don't see the word blame in my note - only yours - twice. I did say he most likely would not have rear ended her if she had been pulled off the road as the law states. Which also is true if there was a light and oncoming traffic - if she was pulled off the road she would not have been in the way. The very purpose for sirens/lights is so people can hear them and get out of the way. It didn' t just start right behind the mother. What was she suppose to do? Obey the law herself of course.
There are accidents every day involving fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars by people who choose to not get out of the way. They violate the law and put others in danger by ignoring the law that tells us to pull off the road and get out of the way when we see or hear an emergency vehicle. Yet people are in such a hurry or have such little respect for the very ones who have sworn to protect the rest of us that they just ignore it and keep on driving. Next time you see lights or hear sirens of such a vehicle take a look around you at what the drivers chose to do.
There are sometimes vicitms of their own choices.

The City is at fault for not keeping kids off the streets. The parents are at fault for letting their kids roam the streets at night and not teaching them to obey the law. The kids are at fault for not having respect for other people's property. Yet it goes on and on and on. Then they become adults doing the same thing. We are so concerned with criminals rights we allow crime to happen. Even encourage it actually. Look at the athletes and movie stars. We spend our money promoting them and in turn they spend it on drugs, guns, dog fights, etc, etc, etc. We are too lazy as a nation to take control.

The reason law enforcement vehicles turn on lights and sirens when they are in pursuit is to warn motorists to get out of the way. The person driving should have been on the side of the road out of the way just like the law states.
