That's one of the most disgusting stories I've read in a long time. Thank goodness the wife had access to a gun and the courage to use it. The punishment for the husband should be exactly what he planned for his wife: a violent rape with no mercy. I hope he gets several of those during his prison stay.

Only 23 years old. What a sad, sad story. He truly is a hero for trying to do the right thing. Condolences to his family and friends. The murderer should spend the rest of his life in jail. Although in cases like this I'm starting to lean toward the death penalty.

Wow. As a breast cancer survivor of 12 years I am totally offended by your comment. Your insensitivity is beyond words. Jodi is an incredibly brave woman. I had a bi-lateral mastectomy and couldn't have reconstruction, so I am one of those women who wears the "falsies" when I'm outside the house and when i swim. I wish I had Jodi's courage to stop caring about what people thought about my flat chest. By the way, they're called prosthetics, not falsies, and they work just fine in water.

There's an interesting article about gay rights in the U.S., state-by-state, on www.guardian.co.uk. Washington is one of only 5 states , plus D.C., that grants full rights to gays and lesbians in marriage (at least for now), hospital visits, adoption, employment, housing, hate crimes, and schools. My cousin married her wife in New York, and afterward sent me this article. Worth reading.
