Nerdfightastic : Day 174: So I'm really busy right now

First off, yes Waxahachie IS a real city, Dave :-p I'm sure there are some OK city names we could say the same about, lol. Casey, hope you have a great time back home in Dallas and at the Renn Faire. It's been a few years since I've been to one but I always have fun. Hope you guys can find another house after the other one fell through. It's a little strange seeing all the little boxes (little boxes and they're all made out of ticky tacky....anyone know that song?)

Nerdfightastic : Day ... something: Another Blog Post?!

(apparently I found the limit for comments here, lol...so here's the rest.) I've been surprised in both bad and good ways by what other Christians believe and how they act (in general and towards others). I love seeing when other Christians don't shy away from and are openly friends/friendly with "sinners" and non-Christians and can have open, respectful, and honest conversations about almost anything. I could probably say more/be more detailed but I'm kinda tired. But I'll leave with three books (this is NERDfightastic after al, right? :-p) other than the Bible that basically fit what I believe: Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller, and (so far) the book I'm currently reading, The Shack by Wm. Paul Young. Thanks for sharing!

I grew up in church and have pretty much gone consistently all my life. Over time I learned it's not about how often you go and that my faith/belief needs to be more about the relationship with God and others than what I do or don't do. Though going to church (among other things) does help strengthen both of those relationships. I've also learned that in order to really talk to someone else about what they believe I need to actually listen and learn the reality of what they believe vs. the stereotypes/lies/etc. that I hear from people that don't know.

Nerdfightastic : Day 160: I'm sick... but not with Swine Flu... maybe

Aww, hope you feel better! I don't think it's swine flu either. Rather something much worse: canine flu! :-p j/k Scarborough Faire sounds awesome and I wish I could go, but I have to work graduations that Friday and Saturday. =/ I order you to have extra fun for me! Maybe have an extra turkey leg for me if you can stomach it. Or you could just do what Hilary did at the Renn faire in AZ (which I've been to). Good luck on your finals!!

Sorry your day/week hasn't been the best. These last few weeks of a semester always seem to be the most busy/stressful so it's totally understandable to spend more time studying. Oooo, ocean, fishies and seagulls (mine!? mine!? mine?! :-p) Stuff I'd like to see more often. So you're going to go ahead and make the question video today?

I want to go back to Germany someday. i was too young to remember a lot about the few years we were there, and I want to learn a bit more of the language before heading back. That "Earth" thing comes out right around my sister's birthday so we may be going to see it...or at least she will. I can't really think of any questions about cosplay, but I'm interested in learning more about it. I think people have misconceptions about it and I'm sure you'll clear a few of those up. That pic of the guy dressed as Sailor Moon is hilarious tho. He's awesome for having the guts to do that!

Hmm, it's been a while since I've read 1984, but that does sound like an interesting take on it, lol. You'll either have to show us video or pics of you dressed as the bad guy (like they say online: pics or it never happened :-p). And ya, it makes me feel a little smarter or something when I catch editing errors in books, especially if it's a big time book. also, yay for 100th post!!
Nerdfightastic : Day 76: A day without internet is no day at all.

Way to be a bummer, Casey! :-p j/k I haven't really heard stories from anyone from in that area. My dad is in Houston now, but he grew up for a time in Galveston. He hasn't said much about the damage but I haven't gotten to talk to him much. I'll probably ask him about it when he comes this weekend. Or I can see it in person if when we get a chance to go down and visit him ourselves. He showed us the house where he grew up using google maps, which was cool, but it'll be nice to see it in person. Hope ya get the internets back soon. The Night Owls miss ya also, even though we haven't been living up to the name lately. Guess it's harder when everyone has classes (well, almost everyone :-p). oh, and be watching for something in the mail within the next week or so. DFTBA!!

I've been kinda sensing that from you, and I kinda know where you're coming from. But from what I've seen, I'd say I waste A LOT more time online than you do. I think it's possible to find a good balance between offline and online, but you gotta do what's in your heart. We'll be sad to see ya go if that's what you decide, tho.

Nerdfightastic : Day 54: Carmie's Internet is Douchey (So You Get CODY)!

That sucks about Carmen's internet, but at least something got up. We'll just have to wait for the vid. That English assignment sounds fun/interesting. Have you already figured out which books you wanna suggest? Something that comes to mind besides the obvious H.G. Wells story is something by Madeline L'Engle....not sure which of the books actually have time travel but any of them related to the Wrinkle in Time story probably have something dealing with time travel. Good luck with that, tho...and don't freeze, cuz that would suck! :-p
