KOMO - Seattle, WA : Charge: Emergency room nurse sexually assaulted woman | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News

Not going to lie, the two times I have been to that hospital have been the worst hospital experiences of my life. So I'm not exactly surprised. The environment there is not a friendly one, especially in the Emergency Room -- you know, where people go when emergencies happen and are in need of care and not to be treated awfully.

I'm of the opinion that the Confederate flag is anti-American. Does that mean he doesn't have a right to fly it? No, certainly not. But as someone who would vehemently defend his right to fly something so offensive to the United States as an established nation, I don't feel the nation should come to his aid in that regard. tl;dr: the whole thing is BS.

WHAT. IS. WRONG. WITH. WASHINGTON. I can't even describe my rage in words that this is in any way okay. You do not spend 3 months in jail for murder. You just DON'T. It's like every second news article I read is a description of someone being arrested who, at some point, MURDERED SOMEONE. but that's okay, you know, because LOL "what is human life we are as good at punishing people for killing someone as a crippled third-world country" It's like some flavorful conspiracy to attract murder to your state. Does it make the government money or something? oh my god, capslock necessary for how effing ridiculous this is. To the point where I am losing coherency.

I wish someone could explain to me why murder seems to mean nothing to the state of Washington; because this is hardly the first, second, or third time I've read about juveniles who've been convicted of murder being out and about breaking laws and generally being .. BAD PEOPLE. "lolololol wut is human life, 3 months will clearly be enough for MURDER!" I just don't get it as someone who's new to the state. Maybe that's part of Washington's historic serial killer collection?

I'm going to take a wild guess that the enormous waste of a metric f***ton of money that was the WES would have easily covered purchasing new buses. Need we be reminded of how minuscule the ridership of the WES is and how much money was spent on it? TriMet needs to stop punishing their riders and taxpayers for their own ridiculous BS that they dig THEMSELVES into.

KATU - Portland, OR : Walgreens takes steps to curb pharmacy robberies | KATU.com - Portland News, Sports, Traffic Weather

Someone please explain to me how this is in any way beneficial to the employees of Walgreens? So some high-strung addict who is likely packing a gun is going to come into a Walgreens store, and instead of being handed their drugs immediately, is going to be told "sorry, we can't open the safe" and be expected to believe that they're not being lied to? Does that mean anything to someone who is already unintelligent enough to be robbing a pharmacy? No, it just puts the employees in immediate danger of retaliation from someone who is most likely armed. Pretty sure an employee's life should always be worth more than giving them what they're looking for. Ridiculous.

BULLSH-- it was a mistake. That representative probably signed him up for a new contract to get a fat commission they would have otherwise not received. Not that Qwest is the classiest provider of anything, really. Their Internet service is terrible, their speeds are downright lies, and the only people I've ever known to use Qwest's services are people who are in an area where they can ONLY get Qwest or go without Internet entirely.

I certainly hope you learn to spell (and perhaps learn English grammar?) before you go voting for the Republican party. Here, let me help you: A space comes after a comma, where you've missed it there before "opinionated". This one's a kicker because it's so basic: "story" becomes "stories" when made plural. You even tried to use a big word, too, that's cute! "Propoganda" is actually "propaganda", but nice try! I see the Right is doing very well in underfunding education.

I'd be interested to know why it's acceptable for any individual, regardless of whether or not they're a news reporter, to be utilizing their cell phone while driving -- especially to that extent. If it's such thrilling news that it needs to be recorded, it would take less than a minute to pull over to the opposite side of the road to get footage (even from a grainy cell phone camera). But driving while attempting to hold a phone up? Absolutely obnoxious.

KATU - Portland, OR : Bill talks of banning pit bulls, euthanizing them | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

(I may have gotten a little too snappy in my reply to your comment and I apologize for that, because I do agree with some of what you're saying). You're 100% right that neither in their extreme is good for society; though I wouldn't think that individuals fighting for their rights to own a dangerous dog would be classed as liberals (unless you're giving me an example of a conservative and I've missed it, which is very likely for me), or individuals that would be blaming everyone else for their drunken driving habits. I would (personally) assume that the liberals would be the ones blaming the alcohol and making sure everyone was paying into an Alcoholics Anonymous fund to rehabilitate said drunk driver after they made the decision themselves to drive drunk and killed someone; and rather than blame the individual for making the decision, giving them third chances and fourth chances until they've wiggled their way free of the legal system and make the same mistake again. But I digress. You're also very right about the individuals whose dogs have been known to attack people - but of course, those are the only ones reported on the news. I just feel like it isn't the dog's fault; I do put the blame on the owner, but it seems to me like there should be some sort of mildly stronger legislation in place for owning a dog like that if one isn't going to take responsibility to take care of their dogs. But that should be across the board for anyone with a dog, whether or not their dog is known to be a breed that attacks or not. The bill itself is insanely extreme, to ban them and take someone's dog and kill it. Like you said in one of your earlier comments, it's just a bandaid on the problem until the real one is solved.

I honestly saw absolutely no reference to liberals in this entire news piece, even less so in the sporadically intelligent comments. You might wanna find somewhere else to share your ill-tempered and biased comments. Perhaps something that actually has something to do with the liberals you're itching to complain about, because goodness knows that any bill presented to any form of congress is only backed by one side of the political spectrum. It would be madness to assume that people from all backgrounds may have feelings on the subject.

People are always going to assume that retail employees must hate their jobs and that corporations are only ever trying to take advantage of them (us). I work for a large corporate retail chain and I enjoy working there; so do many of the other employees who have worked there for years. I agree with you that it wasn't Wal*Mart's fault that this employee was unhappy. Most of the population needs to get off their high-horse of assuming that individuals can only be happy if they're making more than enough money than they need to survive and that's complete BS; if people didn't like working for a corporate retail chain, they would work somewhere else. They're not being taken advantage of, they most likely enjoy where they are (I know this from experience), and people who assume that "oh i would be miserable if it took me 7 years to make $15 an hour" well great, that's YOU, shut up and move on and let everyone else choose how to live their own lives without your asinine judgments. (Sorry for that novel, there, I just feel pretty strongly about this.)

KATU - Portland, OR : Tacoma school may be named for Obama | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

I am not comparing the two of them, I am giving an example of another influential man who also had schools named after him without being a president of the United States. There are many other individuals that I could point out -- I am trying to say that (I feel) a man does not need to be the president to make an impact large enough on our history for his name to be used to name a school. You did not understand the logic I was trying to convey; I am trying to explain that Obama inspired countless people in our country in a time of terrible apathetic crisis; the same could be said about John McCain, I am not trying to speak on either side. I'm trying to say that with the impact that was made on our country, our history, by this man (or by many other men in our history), I feel (and of course, this is my own personal opinion) that he has made a mark worthy of the naming of a school. I'm not trying to find people who agree or disagree with me because I am only stating my opinion; I'm not looking for an argument.

Corporations create jobs for hundreds of thousands of Americans in every state and city in the United States; hoping they all go out of business is a pretty bad way to encourage growth in our own economy. I don't know which outsourced jobs you're referencing in the capitalist retail environment that Black Friday is involved with, but the last time I checked, all of the cashiers at my local retailer were American citizens earning a living for themselves in our country with a job that is provided for by an American corporation.

I think it's acceptable to name a school after him, even without him serving a term as president. There are schools named after individuals who altered the history of the United States drastically without being the president (ex. Benjamin Franklin); and that is just what Obama has done (so far). Obama encouraged a voter turn-out that beat records all over the United States and has inspired countless people across the country with his words; he is an influential American citizen, regardless of being President-Elect.
