After applying redsnow, did anyone experience slow iphone rebooting and re-springing or is it just me?

I got the same situation, i applied redsnow, but it did nothing, stuck at call for emergency after reboot, i just re-applied it again, and voila! it worked! Installed ultrasnow, and everything works now. I've got just one issue; the battery indecator is always full!!

Ok, this is confusing! How would I use ultrasnow if there is no 3.0 jailbreak?
