hough I support efforts to reduce the environmental hazards of energy production, it must not come at the expense of American jobs. According to the Heritage Foundation, in 2012, the legislation could cause more than 4,000 jobs to be lost in the Fourth District alone and nearly 22,000 jobs throughout the Commonwealth. Attempts by other nations to forcefully transition to a "green" economy have ended in shambles. In Spain, studies have shown that on average 2.2 jobs were lost for every "green job" that was created. At a time when the unemployment rate in Kentucky is.10.6 percent and the national unemployment rate is at a twenty-six year high, imposing a national energy tax is dangerous economic policy that we simply cannot afford. What America needs is a comprehensive energy plan that will create jobs, not a national energy tax. My Republican colleagues and I support a comprehensive energy plan that would take advantage of the abundant energy resources that exist on American soil, reducing our dependence on foreign oil and creating more jobs right here at home. The American Energy Act (H.R. 2846), which I have co-sponsored, would increase our energy supply through an ‘all of the above' energy policy that develops our abundant domestic resources, invests in renewable (including wind and solar) and alternative energy sources, offers incentives for better efficiency, cleaner production and more conservation, and makes an important renewed commitment to clean and emissions-free nuclear energy. We must work to preserve our environment and resources for future generations; however, we must also avoid burdensome environmental regulations that will stall our economic recovery and sacrifice American jobs. I will continue fighting for a commonsense energy plan that will put our country on a path to a cleaner, more reliable energy future. Please feel free to call me at (202) 225-3465 if I can be of assistance. You can stay up-to-date on what is going on in Congress and in the Fourth District of Kentucky by signing up for my weekly E-Mail Newsletter at http://www.geoffdavis.house.gov/Contact/EmailSign... Sincerely, Geoff Davis Member of Congress GD/ak

Dear Mr. Thomas: Thank you for contacting me about climate change legislation to establish a "cap-and-trade" system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is good to hear from you on this important issue. As you may know, on June 26th, the House of Representatives narrowly approved a controversial climate change bill that would impose a national energy tax on everyone from families and farmers to the elderly and small businesses, both in Kentucky and across the nation. H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, passed the House by a vote of 219 to 212, with strong bipartisan opposition that included forty-four Democrats. The final version of H.R. 2454 is more than 1200 pages long. It contains 397 regulations, 1,060 government mandates and it was accompanied by a 743-page committee report. The complete legislation was not available for review until 3:09 a.m. on the day of the vote; as a result, Members only had a matter of hours to read and try to understand the impact the bill would have on the families and small businesses in their districts. No one denies this legislation will fundamentally alter the foundation of America's energy and economy. Estimates on the impact of this legislation range from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand a year. States like Kentucky will face the burden most severely because over ninety percent of our energy is produced using coal. The bill should not have been brought to the House floor for a vote until Members and their constituents were given a clear and complete analysis that explained the real impact the bill would have on each State. H.R. 2454 was opposed by multiple local and national organizations, including: * House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; * Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; * Kentucky Chamber of Commerce; * Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives; * Kentucky Association of Manufacturers; * Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation; * National Association of Home Builders; * Center for Fiscal Responsibility; * National Cattleman Beef Association; * American Farm Bureau; * Greenpeace; * U.S. Chamber of Commerce; * National Association of Manufacturers; and * National Federation of Independent Businesses, among others. Energy prices are a major factor in determining the cost of living and the cost of doing business in a particular location. One of Kentucky's principle competitive advantages for economic growth is the low cost of our electricity. More than ninety percent of Kentucky's electricity is produced from coal, allowing Kentucky to have the fourth lowest electricity costs in the U.S. To view a map of how cap and trade legislation would impact Kentucky and other States, visit http://www.geoffdavis.house.gov/UploadedFiles/Pel... For more than a year, local, State and federal officials have stressed the need for government policies that create jobs. Not only does this cap and trade proposal fail to create jobs when Americans need them most, it will result in negative job growth. Manufacturers will be forced to move their plants to countries with cheaper energy, less regulation on energy production, and lower taxes, hurting American workers and the environment. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) noted in their report that the severity of the impact of this proposal varies regionally: Some regions and industries would experience substantially higher rates of unemployment and job turnover as the program becomes increasingly stringent. That transition could be particularly difficult for individuals employed in those industries (such as the coal industry) or living in those regions (such as Appalachia). "The Estimated Costs to Households From the Cap-and-Trade Provisions of H.R. 2454" June 19, 2009.

E-mail to congressman Davis KY: Mr. Davis, where do you stand on cap and trade? I feel it is a real tax for made up credits that again like the health care bill destroy the American economy . I think this is a plan to get every body in the new world order .you have to bankrupt America it will be easier to bring America down then to bring the third world up and as long as America has a strong economy we will never go along with it but every thing going on seams like a blitz-creed on the American economy . What is the deal what is going on in Washington who agenda are we pushing it is not the American peoples these are simple questions that you need to answer and all of Washington needs to answer to the people

Mr. Jefferson,Mr. Jefferson, I wish you where here we sure could use your leadership today the republic is in trouble things aren’t going as you and the other founding fathers planed. I wish I was making these things up sir but I fear the are trying to pass a bill that will tax the very air we breathe with this cap and trade. And sir do you believe they are going to try to run health. Health care for all the say but there will still be about 25 million Americans with out it. And if you don’t have it they will impose fines. They are trying to tax our very liberty sir. Mr. Jefferson if at all possible could you come here and help. the republic has changed a lot in the last 233 yrs. We need your leadership again sir tell Mr. Washington he would not believe the things that they are doing in the town named after him. Before you know it sir they will come for our arms they have control of most of the press and are trying so hard to silent the rest of the media it is just a matter of time sir .we have quite a resistance we just need strong leadership . Mr. Jefferson where did you all find such men of integrity in 1776 I don’t believe there are many in Washington today at least with a enough conviction to stand against the status quoi. So if this letter finds you sir could you please come and bring some men of integrity with you like Mr. Washington, Mr. Franklin, Mr. Adams, Mr. Madison and Mr. Lincoln we need men like you today to take Washington away from this pit of vipers. libertundrfire

i believe that there was God created life on this planet, the cave man before God created man in his image with a soul and a purpose. and because the devil and Eve had a son Cain and Adam and Eve had a son Able. and other off spring from fallen angels genesis chapter 6 that is why the flood came to kill the offspring now this may shock some folks but read and really study the book of genes.and this may shock some here to there will be no rapture no where in the bible do it say that God will rapture the church it dose say he will shorten the tribulation or even the elect will be deceived if the elect where raptured out how could they be deceived? now that is how i take it from the bible

I BELIEVEI: believe in America the way our founding fathers meant for it to be.I believe that hard work and honesty are still the best ways to get aheadin this world.I believe if you want something you should be willing to work for itand not want to take a handout, earn it you will be more thankful for it.I believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God who created all things and Jesus died for all of our sins and is the only way to the Father.I believe that America was blessed by God on her Founding Principals and the further we get from those principals the worst things are going to get in America I believe that honor and integrity are two of the most valuable traits in men.I believe that if America dose not repent and return to its Founding Principals we are doomed.I believe that the Christians of this country need to take their country back from the ungodly who are in places of power.I believe that we as Christians have sat by quietly and let people with out morals have their way for to long. And now we need to stand up and take the high ground and put an end to the things that have eroded the morals of our country.I believe we need to draw the line in the sand and stand and fight for what is right stand our ground no matter what the cost. If our freedom is lost it is lost for ever I believe in my brothers and sisters that we will not let America fall we will go threw some hard times in the near future that will shake our faith to the core but stand firm in the name of Jesus we will make it. ..... what do you believe post it
