According to Dershowitz, it's when the bad guys - Arabs or Muslims - kill good civilians, like Israelis or Americans. I have a different view. It's when anyone intentionally kills civilians to make a political point. Under that more general standard, Hamas and Hezbollah commit acts of terror by sending rockets into populated areas, inexcusable acts of murder and attempted murder. That qualifies as terrorism in my book. But Israel does even far worse with its attack on Lebanese and Gazan civilians. They have a far higher death toll. Dersh repeats the old line that it's H&H's fault for hiding behind civilians, but only the blind faithful could fall for that. Israel's first day of bombing killed over 200 and was not aimed at anyone firing but at civilian as well as "military" targets. When Israel killed 43 just outside the UN run school for refugees, they immediately lied and said that they were returning fire from inside the school.
