Big Peace : Unconstitutional and Antithetical to the Founding Fathers: Ron Paul's Proposed Refusal to Defend Ame

Its an analogy you ignorant fool. Not a history lesson. And its the correct analogy in today's world. "But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example. She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force.... She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.... [America's] glory is not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind. She has a spear and a shield: but the motto upon her shield is, Freedom, Independence, Peace. This has been her Declaration: this has been, as far as her necessary intercourse with the rest of mankind would permit, her practice." John Quincy Adams 1821 Premption is a vain glorious excuse to recklessly involve the country in ways in was never meant to be involved. People like you that have overly romantised combat and its ensuing toll on the nation and those that pay that ultimate price. Its fiscal toll and the ensuing Big Government that must ultimately come about to support a continued war footing will lay waste to the Bill of Rights. With DHS setting up random roadblocks on public highways and byways and asking motorist for "their papers", our country inches one step closer to a full blown fascist dictatorship, thanks in large part to people just like you.

I am proud of my negative ratings. These guys wanna hold their fingers in their ears and scream 'nah nah nah" and talk over you because they do not want to hear that there are Americans that hold a different point of view about foreign policy and its consequences.

Big Government : Blinded by the Left: How Marxists Wrote Ron Paul's Defense Cuts Plan

You have discredited yourself. I actually go and research, instead buying hook, line, and sinker what some blogger posts on Red State. "In one of his earliest public essays, "A Young Republican's View," Buckley proffered a very unconservative (even anti-conservative) overarching argument. Since America and the West were faced with a dire existential threat from the Soviet Union and Communism, said Buckley, "we have to accept Big Government for the duration — for neither an offensive nor a defensive war can be waged ... except through the instrument of a totalitarian bureaucracy within our shores." Buckley destroyed what then the public perceived as "conservatism" and replaced with his brand of right wing marxism, of which you are a follower and proceeded to call that "conservatism".

This election is really between Big Government Republicans vs The Democrat Party. Where they differ, know one knows. you got a little difference in domestic issues but nothing really thats gonna rock the boat. Thats why both sides are teaming up to kill and silence the messenger. Is Paul perfect, is his message perfect, no. But its damn site better than 50 more years of the same BS in Washington.

I kinda agree. Like when William Buckley sold his soul to the statist because he believed that Big Government was the only way to defeat the Soviets. Buckley moved his new righties to the left and embrassed leftist Keynesian Economics in order to ramp of defense spending. Buckley then went on to denounce those in the Old Right that did not follow him on his road to financial ruin.

Jefferson's answer to the hijacking and murder of US merchantmen was clearly within the bounds of the Constitution. He did not pre-emptively sneak into the harbor in Tripoli and bomb willy-nilly the entire city before the muslims had done anything to US merchantmen. Paul would have done the same thing as Jefferson did. Jefferson and Adams tried diplomacy and when they failed, then he sent the marines.

Big Government : What Government Should Be Doing in the Markets

I would not have used Somalia as your free market example. but Hong Kong. Milton Friedman did a whole series on Capitalism and Free Markets on TV, maybe PBS back in the 70's. But the other point is that a free market cannot function without a "destruction" mechanism where malinvestment is washed out of the system so new capital can find a home. Otherwise, if the buyers and sellers are unable to settle on a price because a central bank is trying to reinflate that particular bubble then cash will sit on the sidelines.

Thank god for Ron Paul. No one is afraid he is going to get the nomination. The Republican machine has already decided that Romney is going to get the nomination. Even libs would prefer to vote Romney over Obama in some cases. But its his message of small government, less warmongering and no foreign aid to any country that appeals to young, old and active duty military people that has neocons running scared.
