If you can pop up to Edinburgh for The Fringe (and other festivals), it is well worth it. It's a long way, but Edinburgh in August is basically the dream.

For American lesbian/bisexual history, there's Lillian Faderman's Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers, and To Believe in Women, as well as many of her other books, though those are the two I've read and can recommend. Also Lesbian Nuns: Breaking Silence is a great anthology.

Might I suggest you do it via private message if you do so? I have some religious conservative relatives that I love dearly myself, and I've always found that public responses DO escalate things despite my best intentions, and that if I want to reach someone's heart and mind, the way to do it is in private conversation. (My apologies if that's what you were already planning to do.)

Yeah, there were a lot of interested people, many who self-described as lurkers. :)

Yay! I'm glad that worked out. Doing the matching feels tricky - some people seem like natural matches, whereas others feel more random.

I got about 100 of the summer care package exchange matches sent. ..170 to go.

I've been walking on my foot again for a few weeks now (I broke it on March 31st), but I'm having weird pain at the spot where the bone broke, like a little twinge. It's worrying me; I really hope it doesn't become a chronic pain issue.

I'm much less stressed and depressed since I quit my job, but now I'm facing the bills from my hospitalization for my panic attack and moving at the end of the summer and the prospect of finding a new job in the area where I'm moving (Detroit-area, I have both a customer service and IT (specifically SQL and business softwares JD Edwards and DSI) background, if anyone has any leads) and scheduling any new job around a conference I'm working at in late September/early October in San Diego (it's a once a year gig, I assist with the registration desk and do tech support). Also, I signed up to be a volunteer with the SPCA over the summer, but I need to do a training session first and they don't have any open slots until July 10th. So, not much to do until then but wait. And send out summer care package matches.

I'm making good progress on emailing out care package matches, but about 270 people signed up, so if you have not received yours yet, I thank you for your patience. Again, I tried to mostly match people in their same countries when possible, unless you seemed really into mailing internationally. So I hope people won't be disappointed by matches that are close by. -__-;;

The commenting system on Medium is so bad! It's like they intentionally designed it to be awful.

Thanks! Believe me, I will. I have a lot of bath bombs and face masks to use up by the end of the summer, because I don't want to have to move them. (I'm moving when my lease is up at the end of August.)

Speaking of, if I'm allowed to rec something on the LR: Moon's Harvest bath bombs! They are huge and come in a wide variety of fun scents! I recently got my first order and I'm loving it.

I'm free! HR let today be my last day, due my panic attacks. I just got home! It's such a good feeling!

I should able to get more work done for the Toast Summer Care Package Exchange today.
