I agree with jkesb! Take the time to prepare foods that are healthy for your kids (and yourself)! As far as the HFCS vs. sugar debate, it is all about the $, and it really doesn't matter so much which is worse, they are both bad in 'standard' amounts. The only thing is, good luck finding anything packaged at the grocery store without one or the other (mostly HFCS).____Take a close look at labels - spaghetti sauce, yogurt (not even just Trix or other 'kid' yogurts), bread (I can find 1 brand of bread at my grocery store that doesn't have HFCS in it) to name a few, all have HFCS in them. Of course ruling out the obvious unhealthy foods like Super Sugar Puffs for breakfast makes sense. But what about a bagel with strawberry yogurt? Sounds healthy enough, but, depending on the ingredients, you might have been better off to just eat the Super Sugar Puffs.____The food industry needs to stop fishing around for ways to make their products SOUND healthy and actually produce products that ARE healthy for us to eat! Anyone have any ideas on how to make that happen???...__
