Running with the Pack Podcast : Running with the Pack 78: Amazing Races, Green Movement, Ear Buds, and Core Exercise

Hi Stevie! Just wanted to comment on your ear bud issue. I had read a positive review from Running Times about the "Adidas PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones" and bought a pair. They're very good. They're like ear buds attached to the over-the-ear wrap-around kind. Very lightweight, and they do not drown out traffic noise, etc. They also have a detachable chord (splits in half) so if you have your iPod on your arm the cord won't flop around. The second part of the chord also has a volume control. Anyway, they are nice but a bit pricey. I got them from Amazon for $40, but see they're in the 50s for some reason. Maybe shop around if you're interested. (They also look nice!) Second, I also have a high efficiency washer. You said you buy detergent from Sears. Wanted to let you know Target actually has a section of shelves with many "HE" detergents from all of the major brands (Tide, Cheer, etc). Enjoy! Love the show!
Hi Allan/Stevie! Since you so graciously addressed my sound level comment I thought I'd give you the courtesy of conducting a totally (un)scientific experiment to see how your sound level compares. (I have an hour commute to my job so have plenty of time to listen to podcasts and do silly experiments.) The conclusion? Epi #71 is better. I agree with Brandon, Stevie is much more "balanced" ;-), Allan fades sometimes (like you're not speaking into the mic). The constants - 2010 Honda Civic EX using iPod connector (not the aux input jack), sound level controlled through radio; iPod Nano 8gb; driving 65mph on I-84 in CT. I played each of the following for a few minutes and wrote down the optimal sound level for each. Below is the Podcast and the sound level needed to listen comfortably. Normal iPod Music - 12 "A Mile With Me" - 13 "The Extra Mile" - 14 "Phedippidations" - 14 "Today In iPhone" - 16 "Running to Disney" - 17 "Running with the Pack #71" - 23 "Running with the Pack #70" - 31 Hope this helps and thanks for podcasting! I really enjoy your show!

First, love the show! Keep up the great work!! I'm a new listener...just started listening the beginning of January. Just one comment on the show, nothing to do with the content. It seems the sound level is rather quiet (I download from iTunes). I listen through my car radio and I have to crank up the volume. That wouldn't be necessarily bad, but whenever Stevie laughs it's very loud. Unfortunately in an annoying way. (She laughs a lot.) Not sure if there is anything you can do. But it doesn't seem to be an issue with other podcasts. That aside, thanks for all the work you put into it!
