kids drink, of course they do, but there are rules and outcomes for breaking those rules - if they want to take the punishment for their actions more power to them. You run a stop sign - you get a ticket - you drink or smoke pot in highschool and you get caught - you don't play sports. It's been that way for 25 years! nothings changed.

I can't believe there is even a need for a news release and the administration even has to question the situation at hand- isn't there already a process for things like this? If this kid played any other sport then basketball at Linn Mar, he'd be suspended from school and his sports season would be cut by 20% - so what's the question? It's had to beleive the administration couldn't make up their own mind regarding this easy decision - shame on linnmar for taking it this far - no question he should not play.
