I have 50 for sure but the cover, while present, is torn off, so not sure if you'd really want it, but figured I'd let you know (though it and most of my NP collection are in boxes right now also)

Ugh, you know - as a usual listener to Glenn's program, usually when his stuff gets pushed as saying something dumb there's something out of context. This, sadly, is NOT one of those times. He's been going off on this for weeks because of random reports despite evidence to the contrary. It's not even a right wing thing- Hugh Hewitt (the other guy I listen to regularly and have been for far longer on talk radio) has been all praise for this movie - and I am very interested in it.

There's really not a lot TO the Noah story, adding something in is necessity top any film adaptation, and while I'm not all that interested in an environmentalist take on the story I'm also not convinced that's what this is.

I'm only arguing that its not the ONLY way one can react, so its not a defintiwe outcome and thuis ones reaction is under 0ones copntrol.

As I said in a reply elsewhere, I don't buy the persecution complex and never have. I spent most of my childhood under heavy bullying, to the point of getting beaten up and getting put into in house detention in middle school for being "involved in a fight" - only to have said bully lord it over me throughout high school, knowing that all they had to do was attack me and I'd get punished alongside me throughout the entire middle school experience (have I mentioend how much I hate public school yet? >.<).

So, I understand persecution, and I do understand how it CAN make one defensive, but at least personally, I took it as a challenge to be better and have strived to do so. If that reaction is possible, than the"I've been bullied, I can't help but be insular and exluding" argument seems invalid to me. it's certainly a response one CAN take, but it's not the ONLY response one can take, and it's the weaker of them.

A rather good episode of big piture, bob, and I definitely see what you mean.

Even simple cases, such as "IT people" who will lord it up ridiculously with the less informed. I understand, as someone who does tech support for a living, how frustrating some people can be, but when I see other nerdy IT people get downright abusive with their position of power of sorts, it certainly makes me sad to see it.

I can walk into a Walmart, A WALMART, and buy the newest DVDs of One Peice for around $30 for 13 episodes.

While there's certainly been a recent shrinking of the anime market due to many circumstances, primarily the end of the boom, as someone who used to have to go to a specialty video store in a mall, and pay that same $30 for a random thirty to sixty minute anime movie or OVA on VHS I have to disagree with you.

I remember when even talking about Dragon Ball was unheard of - heck you can buy Pocky at, again, walmart. Certainly there are corners of the otaku area that are still fairly niche in america, but by and large it's in the public conciousness, and readily available. I don't know what else you can ask for.

As someone who WAS constantly shit on throughout his young geek life, I took a personal vow at the age of six that I'd never do that to anyone else and I've done my best to stick by that, so I've never truely bought that excuse, honestly.

Somwehre else on this thread some mentioned that I may not see this as a civil rights issue but thats not entirely true, I DO see this as the ultimate civil rights issue. As I recakll there were "scientific" reasons why Black people were considered inferior to whites, used to justify their sklavery. We human beings are very good at de humanizing a particularly unpiopular form of ourselves to treat as garbage, and rigth now thats beign put towards the unborn. So while I certainly give SOME deference to the mother when her lfie is on the line, and when she's been raped, I do not do so in all cases.

I hope that helps clairfy my position for you.

Not impossible to answer at all, and I appreciate the questions.

In the case of the mother, its a lfuie versus a life, self defense, alst time I checked is not conisdered murder.

As for rape. I do not think a child formed such a way SHOULD be aborted, because it is not the child's fault - however because the situation is clearly traumatic, I give defference to it being legal evben though I personally do not consider it a good call, I can at least respect it.

As for why the woman herself shouldn't be the judge in all cases, freom my persepctive of believing lfie begins at conception, thats akin to askling wyh a parent can;'t just kill their sassy mouth annoying teenage daughter because she's annyoing, after all who are we to decide whats best for the mother?
