Thanks. I have restored with 3.2.1 firmware but when I connect to iTunes it says SIM not recognized cannot activate (but its an official SIM (plus I had a replacement sent to me also). I have searched the net and this is because something is left even after a Restore. See what I have read below...

Quote: TUAW Reader Peter writes: "The reason why we're getting the Invalid SIM error seems to be because running bbupdater with the .fls and .eep files somehow causes the phone's IMEI number become 004999010640000. Running AnySIM or using any of the other unlock methods seems to "program" the iPhone again with the correct IMEI number. There must be another step required to reflash the baseband and get the correct IMEI number back

But I have an Official SIM assigned to a 2G. Its been sent by O2 in the UK. That is the thing... it works but wont activate because if I restore to new firmware the bootneuter is still on. How do I remove it? / turn it off?

Thanks for replying but that isnt right. The phone will still have the wrong bootloader and not Activate when connecting to iTunes ( I know cos I tried that) and did some searching but not found a clear answer yet.

Can anyone help me with how to relock a 2G iPhone. Should I use Pwnage bootneuter settings to relock (virginize) ?
