Cllr Bell, the Conservative who voted for the application, against advice of the Council's professional planning Officers obviously doesn't believe in "conserving" anything.

Can't understand why tax payers should be paying for all this hullaboloo. Why can't Islamic Centre pay for its repairs to its own property rather than demolishing a historic part of England's history and heritage ?

Please send an email to Manchester City Council's Planning Chief - there is a temporary stop on what is going on re. gravestones due to possible breach of planning laws by the Moslems. The whole matter is being investigated because of the fuss we have all kicked up.

Derek, and others on this board. Please get in touch with Manchester City Council to support our case. At present, because of this evidence there is a temporary stop on proceedings because of possible breaches of planning laws.

Probably, but the Sun, who I also contacted, was interested in running a story My MP has written to the Archbishop of Canterbury - who will probably ignore his letter, as he usually does mine. At least we are making a point.

Please can everyone write a complaint to their own MP about this, and to Gerald Kaufman MP for this area of Manchester. It would also be useful to enquire of Manchester City Council, and the Archbishop of Manchester, how we may find our ancestors now that their graves have been desecrated in this foul manner.
