Big Peace : Did Chemical Blasts Bring Down The Twin Towers?

I beg to differ - the pressure of the NY water system just isn't powerful enough to get water up above a certain level, so in order for floors above that level to actually have water, they must pump the water up into holding tanks on the roof of the skyscraper. It's why there are so many water towers on the roofs of the buildings in the city. Now, I may not be an expert on how the towers overcame that obstacle, but considering that the most economical method of getting water pressure on those tall floors is to pump it into a holding tank and let gravity provide the pressure rather than leaving an incredibly expensive pump going all the time, I'm assuming that they pumped water into holding tanks. So in short, I'm willing to bet that there WERE sprinklers even if the supply lines were cut since there would have been water in the holding tanks. Not that I'm agreeing with the explanation or a conspiracy nut - I'm just saying that the explosion explanation presented is still valid.

Emphasis on slowly, though. He's still fairly well hooked on a lot of progressive BS.
Juan Williams honestly gets me angry when I hear him express his opinions at times, but the miraculous thing is that when the debate ends, I'm no longer angry and I can genuinely like the guy. It's a real shame the left figuratively chased him off with a stick. The left needs more Juan Williams types - the ones who are honest, reasonable and civil in their beliefs and debate tactics rather than Machiavellian and blurring the line of demarcation between sanity and lunacy. Matter of fact, I sometimes think that there are some conservatives who could learn the same lesson... Which brings me to the content of this article - This is one of the few times I am full-on headlong in agreement with Juan! School choice, especially in areas like Washington DC where the public school system is a wasteland, is desperately needed, especially for lower income neighborhoods!

Big Journalism : Sound Bite for the Day: Comfortable Bar Stools

First off, libel is the act of defamation in a written form and slander is the spoken form, so slander would be what you're after here. Second off, you have to prove that the act of defamation caused substantive and measurable harm to win the case, and at this point partisan rancor is so rampant I don't think the case would stick since nobody watches MSNBC who doesn't already believe that tripe...

Big Government : Desperation: House Dems Urge Obama to Unilaterally Lift the Debt Ceiling

If we actually looked at intent when judging the framework of the constitution as was originally intended instead of this "living document" nonsense, then this would not be an issue. The clause they're talking about in the 14th amendment was written to essentially say "the union ain't paying for the confederacy's debt, nor will it ever pay for the debt incurred by anyone who tries to secede." I hate the lawyer mentality - the twisting and torturing of words just to get your own way...

Big Hollywood : Whoopi Gets Facts Wrong in Bizarre Racial Rant Against Michele Bachmann

Sometimes Dana's syntax isn't the best - what she said was "We’ve become the first industrialized nation to outlaw slavery, to elect a black president...", and what I believe she meant was We've become the first industrialized nation that has ended slavery to elect a black president. Even there, though, she is unfortunately incorrect as Nelson Mandela preceded Obama as a Chief Executive. And I could also be wrong. I like Dana, but I think she's definitely got something wrong in her statement here, unfortunately.
