Bear in mind the update still isn't that widely spread, wait a couple of days before ruling getting the update out. And then pester MS, as you have a developer device (I've got the Taylor) and it's not particularly easy to develop for current software with old software!

I agree that it's preproduction hardware/software, but my Samsung Taylor runs as fast as most release devices, and that's never going to be for sale. The other thing is, WP7 is a new platform, it should have far more bugs than a relatively mature (in the mobile space at least) OS, Android is "old", it shouldn't perform this badly. The fact that Androids memory management is bad isn't a good reason for it being slow, it means there's a fundamental issue with the OS, and that's not really great on any mobile platform.

Difference between WP7 and Android is that Android does exist in the real world. Yes, pre-production hardware isn't as good (I've got a bucket load of it, and it gets better at release) but this is a "mature" OS, this is terrible performance!

Not necessarily, it's the platform, which could well be common with WP7, just without the phone part.

Whether or not this is a bug, it is a serious data consumption issue that's affecting lots of users that were unaware of how to avoid it, and an incredibly poorly implemented "feature" if it is one. If Microsoft's "fix" is simply to disable it by default or tell users how to, it'll still be a good thing.

Video calling is still pointless. It's been in the EU (with no limits on who or what you can call) for at least 5 years, and handset makers have stopped putting front facing cameras in devices because they weren't used. And that was a standards based, mass market system, not a piece of proprietary crapware.
