Excellent article Thom. We have these guys down here in South Eastern Ohio selling trinkets outside Walmart. When you ask them where they are from and they give you some fake address. I've reported these guys time and time again.. They're called Veterans 1st USA Inc. located in Zanesville, Ohio. So these articles are very important.

I would be the first guy to tell you that the VA Hospital here is number 1 in medical treatment. It has the personality of dispassionate member of society. Referring to Veterans as, another one, another customer, and handing out very impersonal numbers. Now remind you the Medical Staff is just following orders. The administration of VA hospitals suffers greatly. I was asked what they could do to improve the relationship between Veterans and Administration. I said put a desk out front and welcome every Veteran to his or her VA Hospital. How can we help you? Where do you need to go? Let other Veterans spread the word about what a good hospital you have or don't have.

Dear Larry, It has been my distinct pleasure to read and take advice from your webpage. Being a grassrooter I know how difficult things can be, especially when illness attacks. Here's hoping the best for you and hopefully you can make a comeback......"WE NEED YOU". Thank you for your service and to those many Vets you have helped that had no idea of who you are. Kyle Workman Huntington, WV.

Damn I thought the first series was bad. This one is truly scary. Their has to be a way of combating this influence the VA is pushing on the Vets and families that are already paying the daily price without the VA being involved. Maybe a march or some other campaign to let our political leaders know we disagree with the VA on this issue.

Excellent article Jim and very timely. The VA is such a truly huge bureaucratic organization that most people are lost instantly. Someone with the know how needs to organize a program to stop the craziness inside the VA. I love our local hospital and have worked many years lobbying for funding, and have among others been successful. It irks me to watch the system batter the Veterans needing help. Thank you Jim for your work. I t has proven to be very effective. Like I said I have printed your articles and letters and made copies and post them on the bulletin boards at our local hospital. I have in the past found them to be very effective. Again my thanks to you and of course to VA WatchDog.

Having watched my daughter register and work on hundred's of Veteran's claims, along with their children and spouse. One of the things that bothered me most was seeing how those Vets' and families suffered financially for months and years. Most of the diseases were readily visible and were quiet easily diagnosed. Being in a rural Veteran Out Station and knowing many of the Vets' was especially difficult because my daughter and I along with a VA Counselor could easily see the PTSD problems and were amazed when the VA would turn down their claim. To this day many of those Vet's,{the ones that are still alive} will not tell the VA the truth having gone through so many new doctors and staff and having to relive their story every time their was a change. My local VA is run by a bunch of administrators that have no idea of what a Veteran is. Or the price he has paid.

Let me see if I've got this right. The VA and other entities have spent the last 30 years telling us that PTSD does not exist. Just a couple of insertions of a string to strangle your nerves and you're back to normal, whatever the hell that is.

This thing is just beginning. I don't know what's going with the older brother. It seems he is blinded by duty and job security. I know those are harsh terms but PTSD is nothing to laugh at. Over the years I've watched good friends end their lives because of what happened 20 or 30 years ago. It don't go away. I truly feel for all those young guys coming home. This thing is just beginning.

You know there is one of the organization's in Zanesville, Ohio. They collect money and sell merchandise in front of the WalMart in South Point, Ohio. I asked them what they did for local Vets since they were located so far from South Point. He said they helped Vets all over the State and Country. When I mentioned that we had a local VAMC and VARO and Vet Center he said that they just added to that. I asked for a name and address but what he gave me was false. I did find out that they were located in Zanesville, Ohio. A female person named Baisden was the President. I asked one of my friends who lives in the area if they did any volunteer work for Vets that he was aware of. He told me that they were a sham. So I'm kind of waiting on them to show up again in my area.

I go back to the time in the 80's when Mary Stout the X President of VVA/ VietNam Veterans of America was appointed to a position within the VA. Wanna talk about selling the Veterans' out? That was one of the most blatant sellouts of all time. We will never know what she gave up for that position.
