The driving wasn't bad, but I was only a passenger. From my perspective, it was very fun! The lady at the car-rental place gave us a map and showed us where to go.

I would definitely still recommend the kayak tour. I think it was only one girl, and just one little shark. Just don't tip out of the kayak! We heard about the shark bite right before we left for the tour, so we each had a little shot at the bar to calm our nerves. Here's the girl talking about it http://abcnews.go.com/US/shark-survivor-lydia-str...

The best part of the trip is that we were only supposed to spend one night on the island, but we met this married couple randomly with whom we had mutual friends. They invited us to stay a second night with them in their beautiful beach-front mansion. It was like something out of a movie. Great people.

You can definitely ask me if you have any more questions. I'm kind of a Vieques evangelist.

I just made this! DELICIOUS. I can imagine it will only get better as it sits.

Beautiful beaches, and there are 2 little towns you can walk around in. We found the best beaches by renting a jeep and driving down tiny dirt roads. If you're only in San Juan for 4 days, it may not be worth making the trip out to Vieques. The ferry leaves from Fajardo, which is about an hour's drive from San Juan. But, you can also take a tiny plane from SJ to Vieques...that's what I'm planning to do if I go back down there. It's been almost 2 years, and I still think about it at least once a week...it made quite an impression.

We did the kayak bio-bay tour, and I'm not sporty or outdoorsy at all. They don't let you get out of the kayaks anymore, because someone got chomped by a little shark that somehow ended up in the bay. Scary!

Also, the island is full of some of the weirdest people I've ever met. Mostly Americans that moved there and went island crazy and never left.

Go to Vieques! Short ferry ride from mainland PR, and one of the most beautiful islands I've ever seen.

This has been my jam for the last couple weeks. I, too, like some catchy pop music when I'm walking around or in the car.

I only know that because when Suri Cruise was born, the gossip blogs speculated that this guy (William Mapother) was her real father.
